Revulsion takes classic Doom and Quake style gameplay and combines it with a loot based shooter. This involves getting better and better weapons and armor as you climb toward the level cap. In addition to that, there is a large amount of potential loot that you can discover to help you along the way.

game doesnt know what it wants to be
A true hidden gem of Steam. It basically takes the frantic gun play of the original Doom games, adds in an rpg and loot system and ties them all together. The main levels are hand crafted but there is a separate mode called endless dungeon for randomly generated enemies and levels. The only things missing that would have completed this for me is co-op/pvp and full controller support. But it is worth every penny as it currently is.
Revulsion is a first person shooter with loot, but unfortunately not a good one. The shooting is supposed to be fast-paced, but ends up being slow-paced and incredibly monotonous due to the amount of hitscan enemies with high health and high damage: also, the level design is mostly garbage, in multiple occasions the game will force you down a dead end to activate a button and once you do so dozens of enemies will spawn in the rooms behind you (all of them already aware of your position, would be too easy otherwise). The levelling is mostly there to occasionally spawn an enemy 4-5 levels above you that will kill you in one shot. The loot is supposed to be interesting, but variety is minimal: I haven't seen any vaguely interesting modifiers such as "this weapon has more accuracy but less DPS", choice of gear always boils down to picking the highest level items you can equip. The crafting has multiple serious issues, including painfully low resource caps (for example you can only hold 25 berserk gems, crafting some items requires 5 of them) and overreliance on a single rare resource. The game as a whole doesn't really explain you how things work and what you're supposed to do, not that there is much to discover. I get that this is a one man project, but it's just not fun.
Fun and challenging indie shooter. Well worth playing.
i like it.
Bugs or not, after the first time I can't get to my character. I don't what is the cause of the problem but when I first run and play, game work fine. After I quit and in the next day when I hit the menu to pick my char to start the game, nothing there, only a blank space with no buttons to press. Reinstalling won't help any better and I am too lazy to call for help, so I asked for a refund.
It has potential, but there are a few issues. For one it's super dark, and that makes it hard to see things. It also has problems with pop-in when you turn quickly, so there will be flickering on the edges of the screen all the time. Also even with the highest attacking class it feels like you're swinging a nerf bat against everything, and the tougher enemies have absolutely huge pools of hp you need to get through. Also there were lag spikes occasionally. Finally, it has enemies spawn in behind you, which always feels like a cheap death when you die to them.
A very, very fun roguelite FPS thing with levels, weapon crafting and other stuff similar to borderlands even though this ain't at all like borderlands. It's a very weird take on the classic FPS, but one i very much enjoy; The only bad thing about this game is, it's really somewhat characterless. The voxel art isn't too unique and the soundtrack honestly kind of sucks.
It`s fun.
