This visual novel is a collection of alternative realities. How events would turn out and how they end will depend on your choices. Visit wolf's den and solve his secret, or try to tame the wild beast. Eat a pasty with mushrooms and experience something new, or feed it to the old lady, because it's her favorite filling.

Сложно играть, быстро надоедает.
Return of Red Riding Hood Enhanced Edition, developed and published by NLB project, is a reimagining of the classic fairy tale that leans heavily into nonlinear storytelling, humor, and surreal reinterpretation rather than traditional narrative structure. Instead of offering a straightforward retelling, the game presents itself as a collection of alternate scenarios, each shaped by the player’s decisions and often diverging wildly from the source material. This approach transforms a familiar story into something unpredictable, where the tone can shift from lighthearted parody to bizarre or even unsettling moments without warning. The gameplay begins with a short interactive segment that incorporates basic point-and-click mechanics. In this opening phase, players explore a small environment, gather items, and prepare for what follows. While this portion adds a layer of interactivity, it is relatively simple and brief, serving more as a prelude than a core feature. Once completed, the game transitions fully into a visual novel format, where progression is driven by dialogue choices and branching paths. This shift can feel somewhat abrupt, but it reinforces the game’s focus on storytelling and player choice rather than consistent gameplay systems. The central appeal lies in its branching narrative design. Players are given a wide range of choices that lead to numerous outcomes, with many different endings available depending on the paths taken. Some of these scenarios loosely follow the structure of the original Red Riding Hood tale, while others diverge into completely unexpected directions, often embracing absurdity or dark humor. This variety encourages experimentation, as players can revisit the story multiple times to uncover new possibilities. However, while the number of endings is impressive, their depth varies significantly. Some feel like fully realized mini-stories, while others are brief and more akin to comedic detours. The tone of the game is deliberately inconsistent, shifting between playful, strange, and occasionally dark moments. This unpredictability is part of its charm, as it keeps players guessing about what might happen next. The writing embraces exaggeration and surrealism, often prioritizing entertainment over coherence. While this can result in genuinely amusing or memorable scenarios, it can also lead to uneven quality, with certain paths feeling less engaging or polished than others. The humor may not resonate equally with all players, particularly those who prefer more structured or cohesive storytelling. Visually, the game adopts a simple 3D style that reflects its indie origins. Character models and environments are functional but lack detail and refinement, giving the presentation a somewhat rough appearance. Despite this, the visuals contribute to the game’s quirky identity, with exaggerated designs and expressions that complement its unconventional tone. The interface is straightforward and easy to navigate, ensuring that players can focus on the narrative without unnecessary complications. The pacing is shaped by the structure of short, branching segments. Individual story paths are relatively brief, allowing players to explore multiple outcomes in a short amount of time. This makes the game well-suited for quick sessions and encourages repeated playthroughs. However, the need to revisit similar starting points can become repetitive, especially when searching for specific endings. Over time, the novelty of discovering new scenarios may diminish as the similarities between paths become more apparent. Replayability is one of the game’s defining features, but it is closely tied to its limitations. The large number of possible endings provides plenty of content to explore, yet the lack of significant variation in gameplay or structure means that the experience remains largely the same across playthroughs. The game relies on curiosity and a willingness to experiment to maintain engagement, rather than offering deeper progression systems or evolving mechanics. Overall, Return of Red Riding Hood Enhanced Edition is an unconventional and often amusing visual novel that succeeds in reinterpreting a classic story through a lens of humor and experimentation. Its strength lies in its willingness to explore a wide range of possibilities, creating a collection of scenarios that range from entertaining to bizarre. However, its inconsistent writing, basic presentation, and repetitive structure prevent it from achieving a more cohesive or impactful experience. It is best approached as a light, exploratory narrative that values variety over depth, appealing most to players who enjoy unusual storytelling and are open to its unpredictable nature. Rating: 6/10
This alternate red riding hood visual novel game, was entertaining, and for its money cost, is a bargain! The plus also, is that there was a glitch in the last achievement, I have contacted the dev, sending him my bugged file, and what, 20 min later he replied and I could get the missing achievement (he is the man). Also a great game for Achievements hunters, if you want to get them all for sure, there are quite good guides out there!

Люто трэшёво и забавно :)
Местами однообразно, в бесплатной версии веселее было что ли, кажется как будто просто увеличили кол-во концовок ради количества. А так мне понравилось побольше бы таких игр.
As far as choose-your-own adventure type visual novels go there are definitely much worse ones out there. I went in for my .89 cents expecting very little and perhaps to get a few laughs out of the bizarre scenarios people noted, and was pleasantly surprised. The music is a bit generic and although many of the endings are similar there are enough different and wacky branching paths that are pretty entertaining. This was I believe translated from Russian and although clunky and a bit strange sometimes in word choice it overall didn't hurt the experience and perhaps enhanced the entertainment factor. A couple of times the script made me straight up laugh out loud! Check it out if you enjoy any of the devs other projects or are looking for a very surreal and weird Russian visual novel about Little Red Riding Hood.
