I've played the demo the other day and got hooked instantly. Ill paste my edited Demo Review here as well so im not repeating stuff and the new review under it. --- I thought at first it was gonna be one of those silly shop owning ones, but there's actually a lot of effort put into the graphics, game mechanics and customisation options. Its simple but quite addictive. I really like the small extra interactions like turning the open sign on or off, selecting how much change to give, etc... The UI is set out well and the controls are easy to learn. Sidenote: there is jiggle physics. No I was not looking! She walked out the door without paying and I noticed 😭 I like how you can basically customise almost everything: shelving colours and type, including the shelving signs, wall colours and design, floor and roof, and the counter also. Saving the game is pretty quick. --- Im really enjoying the full game, there are a couple things I would like improved or added but not much. Im enjoying the leveling up system and unlocking new genres and the new objects you can buy. Im still loving the customisational options. I've seen a few negative comments about how much you can earn each day etc. I havent had really any issues with it. The money im recieving daily varies between $200 and over $500. Some days theres lots of customers and other days theres only a few. Im finding that that is depending on the day it is and the time of day. I actually don't even go out and hand out the flyers to get more customers and still able to earn over $500 a day depending on the day. You an hire up to two staff members, with the amount of rooms you can unlock, obviously increasing the amount of VHS. It would be nice to be able to hire maybe another two or at least just one other staff. Just to get the returns done quicker. The street area outside the store has other building for the background. It'd be neat if in a later update those stores were also semi furnished where we could promote the VHS store, etc or do deals etc between the stores. Im really hoping more stuff gets added in the furture! Or other games get made by this developer. Gameplay mechanics are fun, easy to learn, creative. Graphics are great, game runs amazing. I did adjust my resolution and anti-aliasing settings thought as they were automatically set quite low for my pc, but even with a lower resolution and not the correct anti-aliasing the game is still great.

Very fun, reasonable paced game. Excellent decompression game after work! No issues with game play, graphics, etc.

Behold my glorious video shop, dear customer! Upon my shelves live endless adventures, horrors, and tales of wonder and woe- sourced from all corners of the multiverse! Tales at once familiar and alien- Those who enter- no matter their displeasure with the fines resulting from their irresponsibility, shall come again. For who may resist the allure of forbidden knowledge I offer in my humble shop? And the escape from the mundane? *** I'm sad I didn't get as much time with the movie scene as you did. When I was a kid going to Blockbuster, for some reason, it's a solid memory- there was always a weirdly prominently placed copy of Teeth sitting at the end of an aisle, which were always too empty, with Megalodon always placed nearby haha. I never got a chance to watch either- though I'll admit I read the back of Teeth. O_O. It was the tail end of their hey-day i think- between 1998 and the early 2000s? Here's an idea for a fictional new release- believe it or not- the first lord of the rings movie was actually released on VHS! I'm not sure if the other two were or not- but that is the heaviest VHS tape I ever owned. If you ever include that VHS in your game, it'd make too much sense for it to clunk onto that counter like a lead weight haha. It'd be cool to have sequels! You could make use of the earlier cardboard adverts to recommend a "marathon" of the series :-) Maybe between new releases there can sometimes be a sequel- that'd be fun! As an aside- as a person with a massive crowd of cardboard averts standing right outside my back door- we may need a little more advert storage- OR i'd love if we could sell them! like if there was a clearance bin but for the extra adverts~~lol don't judge me i'm running a business over here :-] Thank you for sharing your game with us! 10/10 <3
