Got the game for free and I super appreciate that. Thank you so much for the devs to giving me one. However I have to be super honest. The game was very underwhelming. I think I maybe had 1 proper jumpscare. It didn't really feel scary or tense. Especially after running the wrong way multiple times.. If I had to pay it, I would consider maybe max 1 euros for it, but not 7,75, unless there would be multiple stories involved.
If you like Exit 8 Observation games, this is a game for you. It was a fun little game to play, and fun to challenge myself with the achievements once I understood how the game works. But at the same time I was a bit disappointed that there weren't a bit more different monsters, due to it being Junji Ito-inspired. I recommend the game somewhat, because of the Exit 8 kind of game, but wish it would be more signs of Junji Ito-inspiration in the game.
I just spent an hour playing and finally worked out the system to get home! The graphics were very clean, and the playthrough was smooth. However, there was one glitch where I could not enter the tall grass, which did not affect the overall playthrough. I enjoyed that I got new pathways and encounters every time I played, and certain areas gave me goosebumps. But I would have loved some control over the brightness and the ability to interact with items. Overall, I enjoyed this playthrough and hope to play again soon.
I liked the game overall. It had a good horror atmosphere throughout, with just enough light to properly see things, and ominous soundtrack. The various different "frights" that it has ( I counted at least 30 different types) keep you guessing and make the journey home challenging. The main premise is to figure out which corridors have enough changes from regular things to count as frights. That will let you know whether to go left or right. You get penalized with every mistake you make, and if you get enough of those, it is over for you. I truly am looking forward to more content and games from this game dev, as it reminds me of the chilla's art games in the way they play. Full disclosure, I am one of the very few who have died over 4 times( more like at least 10) before I found my way home. This was all due to my carelessness, but throughout I was always entertained. Lastly, I did find what I think was a bug, so hopefully I can contact them in regards to that.
On my first play through I did a coin flip of heads or tails, to know if I was going left to right. On my second play through I did as the game suggested, if the environment seems normal, I go right and if its messed up in any way, I go left. This game is basically a walking-sim horror, exit-8 game and if you are into those games, this might be of interest to you. I played 4 rounds of this game and I am still haven't found all anomalies, so there is most likely a lot that I have missed when it comes to different scares and creepy stuff but for the price I still think its a decent game.
I really wish there was more to this game. It wasn't the worst game I've ever played but there wasn't enough there to warrant a recommendation. I hope the dev will improve in the future and hopefully I'll get to see if they do.
