A short, tight game that respects your time and gives a good story with good mechanical ideas.

Heartwarming short rpg with fun combat!

Remnants of Isolation is a short but genuinely memorable RPG that surprised me with how much it accomplished in just a few hours. The spell fusion system — where you chain one character's innate abilities with the other's equipped spells to create combo effects — gives battles a satisfying layer of strategy that keeps fights from feeling like a slog. The relationship between Celesta and Melchior comes through remarkably well despite the limited dialogue, and the atmospheric music does a lot of heavy lifting to make the castle feel alive and mysterious. It's not without flaws: the story is mostly pieced together through scattered notes, the dungeons can feel repetitive, and the whole thing wraps up faster than you'd like. That said, for the price — especially on sale — it's a polished little gem worth an evening of your time.

If you are looking for a game that won't take much time to beat. And also won't break your bank. Then you've found the perfect game. I think my favorite things about the game were: 1.The music: Albeit there weren't very many different songs. But the ones in it, were quite lovely.) 2.The Stages: Although a short and small game, they fit in several different/interesting and unique areas.) 3.The story: Even though it is short and not super descriptive, it leaves room for wonder and also for a potential second game. Perhaps?) The thing I liked least about the game was, the main characters. Celesta, I want to like so badly. And I do, to a degree. But that"hair?"~ and those weird dots on her skin, don't make any sense. She looks too much like some sort of mermaid. Which doesn't really fit into this game. As far as I know anyways. And Melchior, just looks like a typical side character. He's just way too bland. But overall. I don't regret giving this game a chance. And I can say, it would be nice if one day the creator comes out with a continuation of the game. I'd like to at least know more of the story, if there is any.
