On May 08, 2023, Redeliver received a major update that essentially re-made the game into a new one, while preserving the app id. The old version was a short and linear Ren’Py visual novel with a few light puzzle elements and a medieval fantasy setting. The player was able to experience one day from the life of Red - a young girl hired by the Royal Post House to deliver unclaimed letters directly to people’s households. With the goal of reaching her grandma who lives in another district, she had to traverse several regions, delivering letters to inhabitants as she travelled. https://steamcommunity.com/sharedfiles/filedetails/?id=2987948599 The new overhauled version is a sequence of 15 jigsaw puzzles split into three distinct difficulties. The narrative and minigames that existed as part of the gameplay before May 08, 2023, were completely removed, and the game engine was changed to Godot. The only aspect remaining from the old game is the core idea of having Red traverse the regions (which now take the form of jigsaw puzzle levels) to deliver a letter to a now unspecified recipient. A monochromatic color scheme was chosen as a replacement for the colorful art style of the old game. The jigsaw puzzle levels that now constitute the gameplay are basically minimalistic representations of maps with roads, trees, rocks and other details. Since there is no global picture to reconstruct, finding out what piece connects and where it connects is done based on matching the square-shaped edges of the available pieces to the ones that are already placed, thus completing their patterns. https://steamcommunity.com/sharedfiles/filedetails/?id=2987948533 The first 5 levels belong to the “easy” difficulty, where the puzzles are smaller and all available pieces have a place in the puzzle area. Starting from level 6 (which marks the beginning of the “normal” difficulty levels), the puzzles will spawn “fake” tiles too among the available pieces, which are very similar to the correct ones but should not be used. What makes the last 5 levels “hard” is their increased size and the fact that now the available tiles flicker, thus their pattern will not always be visible to the player. The achievements were also completely replaced after the update from May 08, 2023, with the previous ones being completely removed and new ones being added in their place. The new achievements will require you to complete all 15 levels without making any placement mistakes and also click on all flower and animal types present in the intermediary levels found between the three distinct difficulty groups of regular levels. After the game's completion, an extra set of 10 puzzles is unlocked, but completing these is not necessary for the achievements. https://steamcommunity.com/sharedfiles/filedetails/?id=2987948477 I find the modest price of $1 quite fair for a short game as Redeliver is. While I much rather preferred the old version of the game because of its narrative style and minigames, the new one is equally enjoyable, but it takes substantially less to complete (~30 mins). https://youtu.be/iPxWWmnSA_E So you've read the description and now you're down here in the comments trying to figure out what's it all about. Click the video above to see some of the gameplay, mechanic and hear my thoughts on the game. Redeliver is a beautiful drawn visual novel with a story that draws you in deeper and deeper without you realizing it. The base premise of the story is delivering mail to different individuals within the kingdom, but there is so much more going on here. What happen to her father? Who are these people wanting his research? What's wrong with her grandmother? And so many other unanswered questions that push the story along. You get invested in the characters you meet along the way because you can relate to their problems/situation. You want to keep playing, you want to keep helping and you want to see what happens next. Overall, I highly recommend you pick up Redeliver. The story is amazing, the puzzles are the right amount of challenging and the price is unbelievable. If you can find another experience like this for the same price or cheaper. BUY IT! Then also buy this game as well...
Very short little game. 6 levels, then a "find the hidden object" 6 levels with a new twist, then another "find" 6 levels with a new twist and another find. Then it's done. But then you unlock the extra puzzles. Music is chill, game is easy, worth getting during sale or in a bundle for less. Can be completed in under half an hour, or 1 hour if you also do the extra puzzles and achievements.
Nice little puzzle game.
Small. Pretty. With simple puzzles. Very good for spending a quiet relaxing evening. Nice little puzzle game, don't forget to do the extras if you like those puzzles ^^
Nice easy going game to finish in 30 minutes. Art is cute and the story is nice. I'm just wondering why rRd received a letter in 2019 for a 2023 birthday.
First of all i want to say thank you to Nyfarious for giving me a chance to try this game for free. I enjoyed the story! Suggestions: 1. Add more various background music to make it more emotionally because sometimes the music play too late while conversation 2. Having some more animations is good so we won't get bored 3. Yes it was an easy puzzle but for me, I may need a little bit more challenge. 4. Worth the price!
Game bought in a bundle or at 75%+ discount, or received at a public giveaway
Obviously a work of love, but unfortunately so far the job failed. I wish it the best in the future, though :). Redeliver is a simple, cute and calming puzzle game through the 1st and 2nd (out of 3) part of the game. Just an hour long, with no reply value (unless you've missed some achievements) at $1 it still could be recommended, if it carried like this through all 3 parts. Unfortunately, it doesn't, and very shortly becomes a real pain to play. The problem is, that the unplaced tiles begin to flicker rapidly, being just a headache to look at. I hardly was able to force myself to finish the game because of this and I believe, that the game should carry a serious epilepsy warning, because most likely it would be dangerous for at least some of folks suffering from it. it's even more annoying, because the flickeriing of tiles does not really add anything to the game, as they are revealed immediately after moving a cursor over them. It has been redone and if the dev decides to give it a third try, it may finally come out well, especially if a few QoL changes are also made (at the beginning of each 15 levels spare tiles are unnecessarily piled on each other, even thought there is enough space to show all of them; if you don't read a guide, it's not explained, what you should search for during interludes).
Well written short visual novel about delivering letters. Story is net and there are small decisions in dialogs and some fairly easy puzzles. Definitely worth the price!!! Gameplay preview --> https://youtu.be/RrIvN_OxDlA
