This gets a reluctant thumbs up. This game is beautiful. The art style is charming, with lovely vibrant colours. The gameplay, though, is a mixed bag. The puzzle difficulty swings between way too easy and weirdly difficult. Some of that comes down to clunky and unclear design choices, like needing to click around instead of click-and-drag when it’s not obvious, or having objects not respond properly in the mini-games. The knot puzzle was a weird one too. In a couple of puzzles, I just gave up and used the skip button, and I didn’t feel bad about it. I rarely ever skip puzzles in HOGs, but this game warranted it, at times That said, every scene itself is a hidden object puzzle, and the main part of the game worked fine. You can only pick up the items that you need at that time. Others will give a “you might need this later” notification if it’s an interactable you can’t choose yet, so you can take a mental note and come back when the game prompts you to go get it. The story is fine. It’s cute, but very surface-level. Anna’s parents are attacked by an evil wizard, and she’s whisked away and raised by a cat (as one does, I guess). She grows up completely well-adjusted despite being raised by her pet, and when she suddenly gains magical powers out of nowhere, she just kind of rolls with it. No shock, no questions, just “cool, magic powers, let’s go save the world.” She does want to know about her parents, though, so I guess there’s that. There’s no real character development, and the villain is as generic as they come. Still, it’s a sweet game in a pretty package. I wouldn’t say it’s great, but I didn’t hate it either. If Steam had a neutral rating, I’d pick that. Since it doesn’t, I’m giving it a reluctant thumbs up. It’s obvious that some love went into making it. It’s the puzzles that let it down for me, a lot more than the cheesy story. Most HOGs are cheesy anyway.

For scale, across Steam · Top Sellers · Brazil over the last 30 days: the 25 chart moves that followed a price cut of more than 20% went a median of 10 places towards #1, and the 2,413 moves with no price cut behind them went 2 away. One store, one chart, one country — it is the only place we have enough observations to say even that.
Prices outside the United States have been collected since 6 August 2026 and chart positions since 19 July 2026, so a cut older than that has no market to compare and a market that joined later has no history yet. Nothing here is converted between currencies.

A Tale for Anna
I když by originálu děti nerozuměly, alespoň by z něj šly cítit emoce.
TEPID RECOMMENDATION ALERT!
I enjoyed this unique design for hidden object gameplay, where every screen is a hidden object scene and only objects currently requested can be collected. The artwork is lovely and high-resolution, too. The game properly runs at 4K resolution. So the main aspects of the game were all good. The intermittent parts were what let me down. There are occasional puzzles and story segments that weren't as well done. The puzzles were often not about thinking to find a solution. Tediously arranging things in their proper place isn't what gets my puzzle brain humming. To make matters worse, the interactions for puzzles are terrible. There's no support for clicking and dragging. That would had made for a smoother and faster experience on many of the puzzles. Instead, it's always clicking one thing, then clicking another thing, and waiting a second or two for it to animate. https://steamcommunity.com/sharedfiles/filedetails/?id=3196557334 A Tale for Anna was apparently based on custom fairy tales a developer told his daughter. That's nice of him to do that, but his fairy tales suck. The fairy tales with timeless stories and characters that have been told for hundreds of years are usually riveting journeys of overcoming challenges and limitations, experiencing magical wonderment, and learning important lessons along the way to defeating evil. This custom fairy tale is hopelessly dated to the current year, where our storytellers refuse to depict female characters as having any flaws, learning any moral lessons, or being surprised by anything. Anna is a magical girl that's utterly perfect, from the start to the finish. She masters her newfound magical powers with zero effort. Her deprived upbringing, growing up without regular contact with other people and being raised by a cat, is not any kind of problem to be overcome. Little Anna is still the smartest and most powerful person in the land. While even her parents got fooled by the evil wizard, Anna is absolutely steadfast and resolute. Since Anna is a "mary sue" kind of character, this tale has no drama, no tension, no stakes, no character development and no payoff. Would the developer's daughter be inspired to be a better girl after hearing this tale? I have no idea how she possibly could. https://steamcommunity.com/sharedfiles/filedetails/?id=3196563796 The puzzles and story are bits that pop up from time to time. They definitely lessened the experience for me, but the game is still well made, overall. It's a tepid recommendation, this time.

It is a beautiful hidden-object game that doesn't feature separate hidden-object scenes but instead uses the actual game backgrounds for that purpose. I liked that concept and enjoyed the short overview of the current settings, but that's about it. The problem with having the backgrounds be the actual hidden-object scenes is a lot of jumping between screens, trying to spot whatever you currently need. In addition you can't just pick up anything, only the items you are actually looking for. This means you first have to find a spot requiring a specific item and then keep returning to the various locations. The hint also doesn't have a cooldown - you have to search for petals to activate a new one, even more running back and forth. But what I disliked the most were the minigames. They weren't challenging, they were tedious. Many of them would have been a lot better if you could simply drag objects. But no, you had to click, move to an empty spot, wait for an animation, click, move to an empty spot, wait, rince repeat. I skipped most of them because of that. The story wasn't anything special. A little girl without any flaws - despite the fact that she should have some, she was raised by a cat after all - saves her family and probably the enitre kingdom. Great... The little jigsaw puzzles were a nice addition and thankfully not needed for anything, as hints didn't spot the pieces. All the achievements were story related.
Really annoying game. Slow progress, too difficult and boring.
For kids only.
The game was very entertaining and short enough to not get boring. Positive emotions for kids and 12 year olds and they are the target group. Parents can enjoy playing it with kids.
