It's very arcade like, which is great for me. You don't run out of ammo. and to heal and refuel, you fly through floating balloons. You never have to land your plane or fly to the combat site. You start there. It's just arcadey shooting fun. To hit the enemy, you aim exactly where they are. No accounting for speed or movement. Controls are simple, but much better with a controller. Gameplay is fun. Great game for those who aren't too serious about their dog fighting.
For PC players: No mouse control. Keyboard or controller only. Some might like, some might not. Can't deep dive to shake off enemies - auto turning up.

played the first game through Amazon Prime Games, really enjoyed it so i picked up the 2nd one. really great game, basically an expansion on the first game showcasing American pilots. The arcade style maintains but there are some new things like enemy toxic and shielded planes, a few new game mods like ramming the other planes. the story is alright and the comic style cinematics are not bad at all. the music is really good. TLDR 8/10 its good.
An unfortunate and reluctant NO! A real shame because the cartoony art style goes so well with the arcade feel. I also played this on a Steamdeck (and it runs perfectly fine). FLIGHT: Pitch and Roll only.. sort of Roll. Definitely no Yaw. There is a barrel roll special ability though, but like the other special abilities, it has a cool down. Leading your crosshairs to hit a target that is changing course also does not work the way you think it should... if you are accustomed to playing proper first person shooters (without aim assist), or proper flight games (arcade or sim). MAPS: A reasonably decent amount for a small game, and varied enough to maintain interest and enthusiasm in the game world itself. Some of the maps are immersive on a visual level despite their simplicity and small scale (you can often reach the map's edge and find yourself forcibly turned around to avoid "desertion") CAMPAIGN: Terribly shallow. The game is clearly built around this modern "I just finished some youtube tutorials on how to make a game in ___ engine" mindset. It is a slow grind to earn skill points. Unlock skills... go back to repeat missions to earn 2 stars, then 3 stars. There was clearly no need for a detailed game design plan/document before making this game... just a few bullet points on a single notepad page. Failure is inevitable simply because the game is rigged in favour of the AI until you "power up." Your skills mean little when flying the starter plane with no perks. Your AI wingmen die quickly and you end up having to take on the remaining, and increasing, waves of enemies alone... it feels downright annoying. Newer and better planes are also progression-locked behind completion of certain missions in the campaign, also adding to the rinse-repeat grind. These are all simple and generic wave clearing dogfights to earn points with your final completion score evaluated on your timing as well. There are some static, comic book style cutscenes with dialogue, but in-mission, there is effectively no real story... just wave clearing. That general simple set of mechanics might seem fine, but what you have to do to get there is also way too simple. Dogfights.. wave clearing dogfights. And they're not even really fun, the waves just seem to feel like a chore that you have to get through. Does it seem kind of annoying reading how I have repeated that wave clearing mechanic over and over in this paragraph? That is how you are going to feel playing this game. LOCAL CO-OP: I only played solo. Thankfully all planes and skill points are unlocked here, so you can actually test the "feel" of the end game out properly. And the verdict ends up making you feel like "meh.. it's okay, but could have been so much more." But then you remember you'll have to grind through the campaign missions before you get to enjoy the better planes and higher spec'ced skills for those campaign missions... you really start to look at shallow the mechanics. MULTIPLAYER: Didn't work for me. Visually the game has a colourful and fun style to it, and the actual movement of the planes, despite the lack of Yaw input, is also quite decent. I'd go so far as to say it is "enjoyable-enough." But you will have to deal with the hard reality that there simply is nothing deep to experience here, and the mechanics that you experience in the first 5 minutes is literally "all" of what the rest of this game has to offer... on repeat.
Veeery Veeery repetittive. Feels like a mobile game port, but it runs well. If you ever player Blazing Angels or Combat wings this game is not it and not even close.
Na testowanie pada lepszej gry nie znajdziecie ! Polecam.
A lot more coherent than the original aces of the sky. Not nearly as frustrating and game play is good. Didn't seam to drag on forever and was mostly an enjoyable experience. Runs smooth and I didn't notice many bugs or glitches. There is not much depth to the game and I appreciate that it's simple and straight forward. The graphics and art style are pretty cool and unique. I waited to get this game on sale and I'm glad I did.
