Classic shoot em’up that doesn’t bring anything new, but it's still a nice addition. Simple controls and accessibility let you know that the game's goal is to provide quit fun and nothing more. Aside from the movement controls, you just have to be concerned with the main gun and bombs. You start by going selecting a plane from a generous roster. Only two are available at the start; the remaining eight are unlocked with stars earned by completing stages. The highest amount of stars is every stage is five, which is difficult to achieve because you must destroy almost everything, collect golden wings, and avoid being hit. The good news is that earned stars are permanent. This means that by just playing a lot of rounds, you will eventually unlock everything. What makes this exciting is that each of the 10 planes has a unique attack pattern. So, if you struggle with the first several flights, patience will lead you to something better. The only mode is classic arcade where you beat stages in a linear order. Once you waste all of your lives, you’ll have to restart from stage 1. The opposition are smaller and bigger planes, bombers, helicopters and other classic enemies. Destroyed enemies give you points and money, or powerup for your main gun. Although you can spend money before the mission to buy this powerup or bombs, it’s not that difficult to upgrade the gun fully during a mission. While basic enemies are simple, bosses become full-fledged bullet-hell scenarios. To make matters more challenging, when you deplete a boss's health bar, it becomes quicker and begins firing in more complex patterns. This is tricky because you can only take one or two hits. Another issue is that your hit-box isn't well defined, so you never know how near you can fly to a bullet. The thing that’s missing is spectacle. Except for the cool music, everything else is quiet and non-eventful. Enemies simply fall apart and don’t blow up in rich explosions. Another thing missing are upgrades. The plane stays the same across all nine stages. There are no extra weapons, missiles or health options. But the biggest drawback is the fact that the game uses insane amount of resources. Stages are generic and don’t have anything that would justify this. The optimization is definitely a concern because the fans in my computer were working overtime. It makes you wonder what else is running in the background.
Beat the game on Easy mode, hit level 6 in Normal, and got to level 5 in Hard, while snagging 8 out of 10 aircraft. PROS The game's got a speedy vibe, three difficulty options, a smooth learning curve, and unlocking aircraft happens pretty swiftly (you can notice the differences between them right away). Figuring out enemy patterns is a challenge at first, but it's satisfying once you get the hang of it after a few attempts. The action keeps you on your toes for the most part. There are various aircraft, and some suit your style better than others (I'm all about the ones with a wider firing spread). The difficulty progression is decent, with new enemies introduced at each level. Leaderboards were a surprise, and I'm currently in the top 3 — a nice touch. The soundtrack is great (I usually don't dig game music, but this one fits perfectly). Bosses are diverse, and taking them down requires tactics, especially with multiple stages. The game wraps up with some awesome stats after each mission. I pulled off a perfect score - 100% enemies wiped out, 100% perks snagged, and zero damage taken CONS No tutorial, and since I'm not really into shoot'em'ups, I was kinda lost figuring out what perks I was grabbing in the beginning. I think it would've been cool to have a story going on, like some chatter on the radio between pilots, air traffic control, or even the enemies. That, coupled with the awesome soundtrack, would've been a killer combo. All in all, I'd rate it an 8 out of 10.
A jogabilidade é simples e eficaz. Recomendo o jogo e indico para jogadores casuais. Forte abraço e fique com Deus.
This game should probably be free. Enemy bullets can be rather hard to see b/c they are white'ish or light green grey, and the bullets have a faded twinkle animation. These bullets are often overlaid on a fog effect. You can imagine how hard it is too catch all these tiny bullets on a screen. GPU was humming. Game is running uncapped so I had to cap my FPS in Nvidia Control Panel. The game is basically enemies laid on a scrolling sky background, and they pop onto the top of the screen. Many enemies have a set stop almost smack dab in the center of the screen so if ur on the side of the screen, and in Hard Mode, it can be a bit tricky to dodge bullets and get re-centered to kill said enemy; granted, a lot of enemies and bullets can be dodged by just hanging out on the side as a decent amount of enemies just shoot a barrage of bullets once and then continue their set path to scroll off screen. Cleared Normal mode 1st run. Tried Hard Mode w/newly awarded plane. New plane not good as 1st plane. Felt like a downgrade. Pixely graphics, kinda slurry and drunk. My weapon upgrade was downgraded on a couple occasions on Hard Mode. Maybe some programming error? I like being able to spend money for upgrades at the being of the levels. Easy, intuitive system. I imagine you could "perfect game" it fairly easy. If you want an easy shooter, then this could be it.

Feels like a huge downgrade from the original. Just buy that one instead. -No indication of being hit, can't tell how big or small your hotbox is either. -Boring music, awful sound effects. -They made it widescreen which now shows all the icons in the play field which kinda stinks. Original looked better, cleaner and easier to see. -Several bullet types which are mostly all difficult to see. And this game hasnt had a single update since launch.
Easy thumbs up from me. AWA is still a blast to play, with lots of achievements, and pretty cool boss battles. Also, lots of Jets to unlock. Long story short, i'm enjoying it. https://youtu.be/857KlqPBCKA?si=AQFTIGgbvR7imPn2

Nice upgrade over the original AWA with a few cool additions and improvements. I wish it had a 2-player co-op though.
