Red Ops: The First Infection

A charming story with much action and jokes and attractive characters. I hope there will be a sequel 😉

Well, I give it a thumbs up since I have more positives to this game than negative, and I want to be fair, and also with the hope that my opinion about this would be of help and insight of the perpective, and I will do this by giving pros and cons, though could be a bit spoilerish for those new to this VN, so, be warned; Pros: - The story is engaging, especially if you are a fan of the Resident Evil games or even have played some of them. - The price is if really fair in my stand-point. - The characters are really hot, that being said it also means that the art-style is great. - The characters interactions together are from the range on tension, to funny moments, to romantic moments. - Choices have consequences, so add a little bit of replay value. Cons (Is going to be big one by trying to explain this as the perceptive of a gay top man myself): - For an erotic visual novel game that offered the ability of choosing your prefered sexual role, we were only given the choice of it once, and the erotics scenes that your role were forced by the story's script were of course to fit the stigma and stereotype that only benefits the bottoms where the hunk masculine guy (in this case Chris) is yes or yes on the top right away and the less masculine and less muscular guy(s) (Zach and the red haired guy) have to yes or yes be at the bottom, for gay top men like me, that no different than most bottoms, we are attracted to and want to fantasize on these erotic VN's masculine men too. So, what I mean with this is that as usual like in other similar erotic visual novels, we gay tops as usual got the short value of from our money when it come to the erotism, while bottoms are the one feasting. So, tops, if you are hungry for the blue haired guy, keep this in mind. Conclusion: - Overall, a good visual novel, I give it a 7/10 in scoring since there were things like the whole not so choose your sexual position roles and the forced stereotype. I mostly recommend this erotic VN for the bottoms since they will get way more value from it than tops (unless they are into the whole body and masc/fem stereotype and stigma roles). Looking forward: - I am hopeful of two things, first they add the choose your role on the remaining scenes that right now are without it (since they advertise it that we would be able to and is the reason why I got so excited for this VN), second that the next part whenever they add it will give us scenes for both tops and bottoms equally, since right now most VNs are always more into pleasing the bottom role audience than the top role audience and this one was of the few promising for both role audience. But I will say this again, overall a good VN, looking forward for the next part of this one with the for-mentioned feedbacks.

Full disclosure, I purchased and completed the game on Itch; hence the low amount of hours logged-in. Red Ops is one of the better gay-bara VN games out there. I had such a great time that I had to buy the game on Steam just to review it, and offer you my perspective! (Your welcome Vincere Studio) If that's not a ringing endorsement, I don't know what is. PROS: - The artwork is AMAZING; - The playful banter between Zach & Chris is great fun; - The story is well put together and equally well written; - Choices made in game have consequences; CON: - No achievements (not important for me, but for some it may be a deal breaker); - In my view, Chapter 1 (Prologue) is the weakest of the chapters, needs a bit of fine tuning to reach its utmost potential. In summary, I loved my experience with RED OPS and hope we get to see more of these characters in a sequel and/or DLC. Game comes highly recommended! The only gripe I have is the game did not feature Zac Efron's dong, but I can't really blame the developpers for that now can I...

The characters are charming I must say. The erotic scenes and all the music matches the vibe. I love the inserted light jokes. Some interactions between the characters are kinda amusing. But here's come the truth, my real opinions on this game: - The plot is just average at best. To be honest, I didn't expect the game could be done this fast LOL It was lacking some reasoning on some scenes and relationships, as the characters just unexpectedly develop feelings for each other. Also, where the story just shown us their deep connection, going beyond just based on some physical attractions. Too superficial as far I can see. - The interface The fonts were kinda hard to read not gonna lie... As there is no character art available, which I actually concern the most. I wish there could be more diversity and additional chapters to know more about the plots. -CG Arts They are spectacular but the quantities were not enough to fulfill my expectation. Also some of the CG are too homogeneous. Overall, I think this is a good one, at least it delivered the basic requirements of a visual novel, hoping the game in the future will be getting better and better.

It is okay, but for that price I expected something else than Patreon-like game.

Chris senpai… love me… hold me… PLEASSSEEEE (⚈ᴥ⚈) Fantastic game. Production quality is A tier (the CGs are worth the price of admission) and the characters are endearing. As mentioned by others, barring the pacing issues of the first chapter – stick with it – it's a keeper.
