About
Recursive is a recursive incremental game about helping your kingdom survive by building yourself into something unstoppable. You start by clicking enemies for XP, then you turn that into upgrades that unlock more systems, more currencies, and more ways to scale.
Unlock towns with their own minigames and progression, route their output back into your build, and keep feeding everything into your knights growing power. The loop is the point: every system exists to strengthen another.
FEATURES
Click enemies, fight bosses, and push progression
Unlock towns with unique minigames and currencies
Build compounding upgrade loops that reshape your run
Craft and equip gear to power up your Giant
And so much more!

It scratches that itch for a good idle game. Once the numbers get so large, some minor bugs, like it lags when the numbers hit Sq or higher, but there is an option to turn off display numbers which fixes the problem. For those who like an idle game, letting it cook in the background and coming back to it between lobbys of another game, this was great for me.
UPDATE: The Developer was kind enough, to point out to me, that i totally missed out the developmenttree for the knight. I complained, that it took too long to get strong enough for the final boss ... but well, it was totally my fault. I tried the skill tree for the knight just now and it pushed the damage output from 7 Millions (was really tough to defeat the boss with that) to 2 Billions ... That would've saved me some hours of meaningless grinding. So now, i can truly say: It's a great game i really liked to play, til i fumbled the finale ;)

"Every time you think you understand it, it unlocks something else, adding new layers, mechanics, and ways to grow." That's the blurb on the steam store page. I bought the game hoping that it might be true, ultimatly I was disapointed. I hit 100% completion after only a few days (most of my reported playtime is me being asleep or at work and letting the game run). For what it is, it's not bad. It does have layers, just not as many as I'd like. So what the hell is this? It's a clicker / idle incremental. Clicker at first, becomes idle as you get upgrades. An autoclicker is highly reccomended. There are indeed a few layers, with new mechanics and even some minigames and multiple progression trees. I don't know. It just left me wanting more. I wanted a dozen minigames, not four. I wanted a score of layers, not the meager few actually presented. I was expecting to be halfway done with the game when I hit the "congrats you win" screen. That's a me problem, a matter of expectations. Perhaps I've been spoiled by Orb of Creation, and that game isn't even in full release yet.
It's pretty fun. I'm not a fan of the mining minigame or how the tree is designed (there's an 'updgrade' that actually makes it harder to get the full clear bonus, for example), but it's pretty good otherwise.

Recursive is an incremental game with a lot more depth than it first appears. It combines auto battler, tower defense, puzzles, gambling, and several other gameplay systems into one surprisingly cohesive experience. Pros: + There's always something to do because the game combines multiple idle gameplay systems. + The different mechanics keep the gameplay fresh and prevent it from becoming repetitive. + Progress in one system often provides bonuses for other systems, making everything feel connected. + Everything takes place on a single map instead of endless menus, which makes navigation feel intuitive. Neutral: The balancing isn't quite there yet. While the overworld and the Mages (gold) progress rather slowly, the Tower Defense mode currently generates prestige points much faster than the other systems. Overall: This is the first incremental game in a long time that genuinely surprised me and didn't end up running in the background after just 10 minutes. There's always another system or minigame making progress somewhere, which keeps you engaged. An easy recommendation for anyone who enjoys incremental games with lots of variety.
I do enjoy these incremental games but this one I only played it for completion sake. The main flaw (for me) is a combination of that the upgrades take too long and doing nothing you don't feel they have any impact. The next thing is the balance of all the (too many) features, e.g. Tower defence and tower attack and that horrid mining. Instead of one good and thought out mini game you have 3 ♥♥♥♥♥♥ ones - fun not found. The last thing I want to write about is the background, it would have been nice if the background had even the tiniest of animation, e.g. stars sparkling or fading in and out, sky/clouds moving, trees moving in the wind or any kind of weather? To make the infinitesimal small world a bit lively. That reminds me in some of the tower defence levels you can see the trees are not cleanly copy pasted and you have a vertical light green line next to many of them. In the end I spend ~55h playing a different game or watching a series until all achievements popped hardly found any enjoyment and will uninstall after review,
