a little clunky around the edges but a good introduction to automation games because it doesnt have overly complicated yes/no functions and all that stuff.
Rebots, developed by FlatPonies, is a captivating automation and resource management game that combines a charming aesthetic with engaging gameplay. As a new employee of Rebots Corporation, your mission is to help quirky aliens settle on asteroids by creating complex production lines and transforming landscapes. Gameplay revolves around managing resources, constructing efficient production lines, and meeting the unique demands of various alien species. Each alien has specific needs and preferences, challenging players to strategize and adapt their approaches to ensure a thriving settlement. The game features diverse biomes and an array of tools, machines, and structures to build and upgrade. Players must balance resource gathering, production efficiency, and environmental management while navigating the game's progressively more complex scenarios. Rebots' art style and sense of humor add to its charm, making for an enjoyable and lighthearted experience. The game's tutorials and user interface are well-designed and accessible, ensuring that players can easily learn the mechanics and focus on the fun aspects of gameplay. While Rebots can be challenging, the satisfaction of creating well-oiled machines and prosperous settlements makes the effort worthwhile. The game offers a wealth of content and replayability, allowing players to experiment with various strategies and approaches to perfect their automation systems. In conclusion, Rebots is a delightful and engaging game that successfully combines resource management, automation, and humor into a captivating experience. With its charming visuals, intuitive gameplay, and wealth of content, Rebots is a must-play for fans of the genre and anyone seeking a unique and enjoyable adventure in space. 机器人互动方面的教程做得太差了,教程是一回事,实操又是一回事。反正我自己弄了一个小时也没弄明白。 玩法类似异星探险家
This game has some charm, but the core loop boils down to very simple programming and shuffling resources around with almost no inventory space. The controls feel clunky and unintuitive, and basic quality of life features are missing. The limited storage turns every task into a frustrating puzzle, not because it’s challenging, but because the game refuses to give you basic tools. Instead of feeling fun or clever, it often feels like doing chores with awkward equipment.
Confusing, bad UI, buggy. Needed a lot more playtesting before release.
Cute and pleasant game here, it's a nice take on the automation genre. As others positive comments say, mechanics are obviously lighter than the 2 or 3 titles / war machines out there right now, but it adds the coziness they don't have. The art and audio style, with a nice humor, add more to the universe of Rebots. (- - - : I admit a drop of fps after trying to cover an asteroid with machines. ^^ )
This game seems quite fun and charming! Sadly, upon visiting the second asteroid (about 30m into the game), the game consistently becomes unresponsive on the loading screen, rendering it unplayable. I'm hoping this can be fixed soon, and will update my review accordingly
Ein sehr nettes Spiel, macht sehr viel Spaß!
Worth the sale price for sure, and fun to poke around in. The major downside is the game feels very broad but also very shallow. There's plants, gases, ecosystems, etc. But it is all very basic. So I find myself checking multiple screens to see if a plant is a suitable candidate for a mission, then end up with the same basic steps to complete that mission. A neat concept, just not refined enough to keep me coming back.
