About
REAPER is a medieval-themed first-person shooter, drawing inspiration from such classic titles as Doom, Quake and Hitman.
Play as Death Incarnate, and follow the guidance of a mysterious spirit, tasking you with collecting the souls of a series of targets, and condemning them to the Hell below.
Following the "bite-sized boomer shooter" ethos of DOSMan Games, REAPER is the culmination of a year of hard work, trials and tribulations. What we have here is a short campaign, secrets in every level, a diverse enemy roster, and boss fights aplenty. There are also many voice cameos -- see if you can guess who's who!

Another fun DOSMan Game. Pretty easy once you get the hang of melee-kiting enemies, the enemies can be stunlocked by the faster weapons, and I was a bit disappointed by the ending, but overall it was an enjoyable way to procrastinate the real life work I needed to do for a couple hours.
Jogo incrível! Pelo preço, vale muito a pena. A jogabilidade é muito boa, a ambientação é maravilhosa. Gostei demais! Os gráficos são bonitos.
(This review is kinda mixed since while it's on the same level of quality of other in-house DOSMAN games, so far, it's easily the weakest one of the bunch. Leaving on positive due to it's circumstances of cheap price on a pre-made engine) REAPER is a somewhat melee focuses Retro FPS game developed and published by DOSman Games. Running on the EFPSE engine, I believe it follows a grim reaper in a fantasy medieval world as they go and reap souls for anyone dumb enough to get in his way. It kinda feels both like a spiritual successor to Flash of the Blade X while also feeling a bit pulled back from that game's design. This is likely due to a lot of concepts getting cut due to supposedly the engine limitations at the time. Gameplay of REAPER has that classic Retro FPS gameplay basis. Levels by level basis, Enemies to fight, typically keys to collect to progress through a level, and the occasional secrets. REAPER also has basically the same weapon progression as Flash of the Blade X along the lines of: Starting Melee, Ranged Attack, More Powerful Melee, Better Ranged, and a Faster Powerful Melee. Most pickups like health and ammo are also still trapped inside breakable objects and the enemy variety mostly boils down to slowly gravitating to your location or using a ranged attack. The main difference that REAPER brings to the table is obviously the level design. As there's a lot more basic and maze-like level design used with some exceptions, such as a medieval village. Stylewise, REAPER continues to showcases DOSMan Games's impeccable DOS-game like artstyle with a ton of sprites for the enemies, and for the levels. This means while the gameplay is somewhat repetitive and similar to Flash of the Blade X, you're at least seeing new stuff throughout the campaign. There is also supposedly a story told through this ghost lady that is next to you in every opening room, but due to EFPSE having unfortunately really poor sound mixing options, it makes her dialogue almost impossible to hear without cranking up ALL the sound up. This could have been resolved with subtitles of some sort but as it has been confirmed a lot of the concepts in the game were stripped back it's probably something they couldn't have implemented. It doesn't change too much from the game's experience but it is a aspect worth noting. Overall, REAPER feels somewhat underwhelming, both from what came before and especially what came after. It's nothing awful since EFPSE at it's basis is serviceable, but the pacing in something like Flash of the Blade X or the next DOSman developed game, DOSman: Space Aliens in Space is just way more polished, even if REAPER has really good spritework and ideas. If you are going through DOSman Games's various published and developed work, this is probably one I'd say either skip or nab on sale if you're curious.

REAPER is a 3D retro billboarded "boomer shooter" where you take on the role of the Grim Reaper, who, you would think, would be fairly capable of handling a few peasants, but no, you get your butt kicked by them. On the upside, the game does feature customisable controls and resolution, so at least some of the basic, minimum requirements have been met. Unfortunately there's a number of other technical defects and shortcomings which contribute to the game being difficult to recommend to gamers. As a boomer shooter, this is basically a ripoff/reskin of Wolfenstein 3D (really, the game engine provided by the 3D Game Studio construction kit the developer used is closer to Rise of the Triad), the engine works well enough. The problem is largely with the gameplay... as a boomer "shooter", this lacks, well, shooting, relying much more strongly on melee weapons, and thus the level design, while generally adequate, lacks enough pickups and so on, so instead of a fun, over the top shooter experience, it's a miserable drag. The game and the melee focus becomes incredibly repetitive, so while the game is polished well enough (it's not hard to polish retro pixelcrap textures and billboard sprite enemies), the game design itself falls flat. There's also some bugs and issues... like you can get stuck in places, and in some places jump on top of the walls for the 2D "maze" levels in some places and just run around on top of the world where you've obviously not supposed to be able to go. That's not like abusing a hard to find glitch or exploit, you can just jump up on top of the map in places. That's a little sloppy in terms of design/implementation. The poor quality of this game is reflected by how many people spent time with it. At the time of this review, SteamDB shows the all-time peak player number was only 5 players. This is a remarkably low number, and now, the only player activity occurs once or twice a month, presumably someone loading it up to see what it is then quickly uninstalling it. Considering there's over 130 million gamers on Steam and well over 140,000 games for gamers to choose from, the overwhelming lack of interest in this low quality game is to be expected. So, should you buy this game? Is this one of the best of the 140,000+ games on Steam? REAPER is relatively cheap at $3 USD, but it's not worth it. Given the defects and quality issues with the game, coupled with the unrealistic price, this is impossible to recommend. This is also competing with over 14,000 free games available on Steam, many of them far better than this paid product. You'd be far better off playing a remastered original. A step-up from previous DOSMan games. Has some bugs but it is a pleasant experience
A short simple fps in the style of Hexen. Sometimes that's all you want, just a fun time to distract yourself with.
Прикольная игра в стиле Doom под пиво. Сюжет простой : Вы Смерть! Собираете ключи Забираете души Побеждаете боссов
Fun little Dosman Game. Action is good and the enemies and there voice lines are pretty good aswell. Level design is not the strongest of the Dosman Games. Overall a good game and could be worth a sequel since there is potential.
Plays terrible. Very few health pickups and ammo even on easy. Mostly had to use my scythe on the first two levels, saving ammo for archers. The scythe has terrible hit detection. Once you get into a flow it's fun but the limited resources immediately pulls me out. Stopped playing after 30 mins.
