RC Rush is some of the most fun I have had in VR in a long long time. The game isn't the most polished, but it sure is the type of game that will have you grinning ear to ear as you play. My nostalgia for RC cars takes me back to when I was 7 or 8 and would watch the races near the camp ground I went to. What RC Rush does is places you on a variety of tracks that twist and turn in the grassy playground, a lava ravine, the rooftop of a skyscraper, inside a cave, and more. There is so much variety in RC Rush and even the remixed tracks with jumps and items in your way help to spice things up. There's a variety of cars to unlock as well and varied race types like time trials, elimination, and multi lap courses. Once the multiplayer is unlocked it will be nice to play against others than just the CPU. If you have nostalgia for RC Cars, love racing games, love VR, and want something that is sure to make you smile, RC Rush is the game for you.
Impressions Video with Commentary: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=fd5BIQOMpXs My Initial Impressions: The best Radio Controlled racing game I have played in VR!
Highly addictive and instant fun. The game can be challenging (the ai is quite ok), with a good variety of vehicles and tracks. Played about 4 hours so far and enjoyed it quite a lot.
So many tracks! So many play options from free roam to online to VR! Each truck is different and I've loved picking a few favourites and racing them around the playground and skate park. There's still so much to try with the zillions of tracks and it is adjustable (steering assist etc) for absolute beginners right up to experts in these kinds of games (I'm not!). Online with friends is an absolute blast and the graphics and physics have been created with real care and attention to detail. To say its an early access game its great fun straight out of the box. Loving it!
Awesome game!! Solo or with up to 8 plays Pancake or VR modes!!!
i am a fan of this game for sure. I use quest 2 VR and TRAXXAS TQI transmitter via VRC like USB adaptor and it works great. follow the action with my head, and feels like driving a real RC. - an arcadey in a good way RC anyway. at first the tracks and trucks are not great but play the campaign and unlock some beasts and hell fun tracks, heaps of layouts, boosts, jumps, on and off road. its not realistic like VRC but i think its better. i would love to see boats haha! different event types are pretty cool - have not tried MP yet, been no lobbies and my mates do not have it (yet i hope haha). i made a video and posted it on my real life RC channel TotalScumbagRC - so check it out and maybe subscribe. cheers.
RC Rush cars go vrrrrrrroom. This game is so much fun. I love watching the whizzing around the track in VR. I play a round or three everyday. Seeing the Pizza map and the carnage for the AI is great fun. And then I hit the vegetable map for the AI and the carnage was even more enjoyable. Lava maps are carnage for the player and took a few shots to get through. I'm at level 12 at the point of writing this review, with gold in every campaign event so far, though that's taken a few goes. When I return here to update my review I'll have gold in every level, or my excuses prepared. Excuses which will probably involve the lava levels.
RC Rush In rather simple term is the one you've been waiting for. If like me you've delved in to the previous VR rc racer attempts and found them to be simple clunky indie titles that you play once and forget about (basically a solo dev having a go at something cool in VR) RC will have you back because it's so much more the way it presents itself, feels great, and is an actual game. Presentation matches up very much like mini moto X with the same simple but effective gold/silver/bronze unlock path, you've played that, it's the level of quality and what to expect from the type of track layouts you'll see. Impressing me most were the physics on the tracks, particularly the banking corners and the jumping. For those that remember the top down arcade racers, RC Rush nails Ivan 'Ironman' Stewarts super offroad gameplay feel to a tee, very fun!! Only a few early access gripes, the reset button is a limitless easy out, AI gets a tad confused on some courses, the elimination round threw me out for no seemingly obvious reason. *****EDIT***** For those wondering does it work on WMR/G2. Works fine visually, performs perfectly on my G2, motion controls working perfectly without need for alteration. Edited because earlier i had problems that turned out to be that other controllers plugged in caused issues with the right trigger. Disconnecting solved that problem. Totally recommend this if you're looking for an RC game in VR, and if you're looking for more of what mini moto x had to offer with it's overhead racer stuff.
