Take control of a RailGod, a living, sentient abomination forged through forgotten, arcane rituals: a relentless, horrific fusion of beast and machine. Yet the train is your haven, where you must cleanse your fragile mind from the all-consuming Madness and nurture the symbiotic bond with this terrifying entity. As you perform dark deeds, you will be rewarded with power, evolving alongside your RailGod into an unstoppable force, ready to defy the alien Gods themselves.

Customize and upgrade your RailGod with specialized Carriages, building your mobile fortress piece by piece. Each Carriage offers strategic advantages, and player creativity will shape the train into a powerful stronghold against the horrors of Hysterra.

Game is an abandonware scam and should be removed and both the publisher and dev should be banned from Steam EA permanently.
Developed by Troglobytes Games and published by Digital Vortex Entertainment, RailGods of Hysterra delivers a memorable survival adventure by combining open-world crafting with the unsettling themes of cosmic horror. Rather than establishing a permanent settlement, players travel aboard a grotesque living locomotive known as the RailGod, an ancient creature fused with machinery that becomes both transportation and home. This unusual concept immediately separates the game from traditional survival titles, creating an experience where every journey across the ruined landscape feels dangerous, mysterious, and essential to long-term survival. The game's setting is heavily inspired by Lovecraftian mythology, portraying a world devastated by the arrival of incomprehensible cosmic beings. Civilization has collapsed, and only scattered survivors remain while monstrous creatures, fanatical cultists, and supernatural horrors dominate the wilderness. Players take on the role of a Dreamer awakened from the Dreamlands and linked to the RailGod through an otherworldly bond. Exploration constantly exposes players to corrupted environments and terrifying discoveries, while the looming threat of madness reinforces the oppressive atmosphere. The inclusion of sanity alongside traditional survival mechanics helps make every expedition feel unpredictable instead of becoming a routine resource-gathering exercise. The RailGod itself is the heart of the gameplay. Unlike ordinary vehicles or mobile bases, this sentient train demands care and nourishment to continue its journey. Defeated enemies provide flesh that can be sacrificed to sustain the creature, turning combat into an important part of maintaining your only safe haven. As players gather materials and unlock new technologies, additional train cars and upgrades expand the RailGod's capabilities, allowing it to evolve into a more powerful fortress. This constant progression creates a satisfying loop where exploration directly contributes to both personal advancement and the development of the living locomotive. Crafting and progression systems build upon familiar survival mechanics while introducing supernatural elements that fit naturally within the game's setting. Resources gathered during expeditions are used to forge weapons, protective equipment, tools, and useful facilities aboard the train. Forbidden knowledge, occult rituals, and mysterious powers become just as valuable as conventional crafting materials, giving progression a distinctive identity. Unlocking GodKeeper abilities further strengthens the player, encouraging experimentation with different approaches to combat, exploration, and survival as increasingly dangerous enemies emerge throughout the journey. The game also places considerable emphasis on cooperative play, supporting groups of up to five players. Sharing responsibilities such as gathering resources, defending the RailGod, crafting equipment, and exploring hostile territory adds depth to the experience and makes teamwork feel meaningful rather than optional. Although solo play remains fully supported, the cooperative design allows friends to overcome larger threats together while making lengthy expeditions across the corrupted world far more engaging. The moving base naturally keeps everyone together, encouraging cooperation throughout every stage of progression. Combat focuses on preparation as much as action. Players gradually acquire stronger weapons and supernatural abilities while confronting increasingly terrifying creatures inspired by eldritch mythology. Encounters become more rewarding as the RailGod and the Dreamer grow stronger together, eventually preparing players to challenge colossal cosmic entities that represent the greatest dangers in the world. The sense of progression from vulnerable survivor to powerful hunter of eldritch horrors provides a satisfying long-term objective beyond simple resource collection. Visually, RailGods of Hysterra succeeds in capturing an eerie atmosphere through twisted landscapes, grotesque creature designs, and the disturbing appearance of the organic locomotive itself. Every region reinforces the feeling that the world has been consumed by forces beyond human understanding. The environmental design, paired with the game's survival systems and unsettling tone, consistently supports its horror themes without relying solely on cheap scares or excessive gore. As an Early Access release, the game still has room to expand through additional content, refinement, and balancing. However, the current foundation already showcases an inventive combination of survival crafting, cooperative gameplay, exploration, and cosmic horror. Its strongest achievement lies in transforming the living RailGod into far more than a simple vehicle, making it an evolving companion that influences nearly every gameplay system. Players who enjoy survival games with a darker atmosphere and a unique central mechanic will find plenty to appreciate, while fans of Lovecraft-inspired settings are likely to be drawn to its distinctive world and ambitious design. muito complicado, menus, baús, tudo bagunçado, tentei realmente jogar mais tempo, conhecer melhor, mas achei muito enrolado, ao entrar na cidade, pegar e entregar quests é bem diferente, tipo, vc precisa abrir o baú da quest, adicionar os ítens.... curti não, vou esperar sair a versão definitiva pra tentar novamente.
no updates and no info whatsoever.
This game's progression is incredibly frustrating and rough by any standard. The combat is quite jank as well. It's just an unfinished mess. If you're on the fence, don't buy this, even on sale.

Look like dead game.
on paper this game slaps, in execution it's clunky, not well created and abandoned by the devs, very unfortunate :(
