Ragnar's Chinese Memory Game

This has helped me make progress. I've learned new characters and can recognise others faster. This is so much better than flash cards because of the audio and the game part.

Very nice and fun game, trains short term memory and Chinese vocabulary at the same time. One thing I don't like though is how this game apparently does not save anything at all, so each time I open it, it shows me the tutorial again. It would be cool if it kept track of some kind of score and if there was maybe a highscore for how many turns it took you to clear the board etc. Would also be nice if there were more options to customise the font, colour of the board etc. Nevertheless, I'd recommend this game to anyone who is learning Chinese! Very helpful especially for people like me who tend to procrastinate a lot and get bored fast when studying.

I remember learning to read and write English this way before starting school when I was a wee tyke. And as I've "played" this I've already caught myself noticing and thinking about the symbols and such, like the symbol for "day" being part of the symbols for China. (I havnt figured out what the other symbol by itself is yet lol) Catching and understanding the pronunciation is even harder for me, I dont think I have picked up any of it yet, but am hopeful. I do not think that this by itself will lead me or anyone else into any kind of fluency in either reading or writing, but I feel like its a great way to pick up exposure to the language. Slowly building up familiarity will hopefully make further learning easier and more productive.

I love this game. Simple but effective. I appreciate that it ships with traditional mandarin, and I would love it even more if it had Zhuyin spelling as an alternative to Pinyin. The look and feel is very pleasant for the eyes, same as the audio tracks. This game could be extended with additional playing modes for increased replayability, such as: - associate characters with their pinyin/zhuyin - associate characters with drawings - associate triplets (spelling, characters, meaning) instead of pairs - english audio track instead of mandarin audio track, to memorize meaning instead of pronounce I'd be happy to pay for DLCs delivering such an additional content.

Simple and effective to increase vocabulary. Better than flash cards because you can hear the sound. Only thing that would make it better is if it had a way to slow down the speech. And an option to hear a male or female voice.

Really great vocabulary builder! Plenty of options to help your Mandarin learning (hiding English translations, hiding pinyin, toggle traditional of simplified characters, and various HSK levels to select from) And the art is also really cute, and adds to the experience :3 if you want to learn Mandarin, I would suggest this game as a good starting point!
