Prices
The United States storefront in every case, so this compares stores and not countries.
Prices
Each in the currency that store quoted — not converted: the gap between two rows is the publisher's pricing, not an exchange rate.
14 of 15 markets; the rest we haven't asked for this title, not markets where it is unavailable.
Availability
We put this game to every storefront we collect. A market that answered not sold has told us something about the game; a market we never asked has not, and the two are never drawn the same.
Discounts
Every price cut of more than 20% we have observed, in each market that quoted one, with this game's chart position on either side of it. These are episodes, not a model: a sale is one event, and one event cannot tell you what the next one will do.
Reviews, worldwide (the counter carries no country): 1.14/day in the week to Jul 30 → 1.57/day in the week after.
For scale, across Steam · Top Sellers · Brazil over the last 30 days: the 24 chart moves that followed a price cut of more than 20% went a median of 9 places towards #1, and the 2,404 moves with no price cut behind them went 2 away. One store, one chart, one country — it is the only place we have enough observations to say even that.
Prices outside the United States have been collected since 6 August 2026 and chart positions since 19 July 2026, so a cut older than that has no market to compare and a market that joined later has no history yet. Nothing here is converted between currencies.

Reviews
This game did not age well, but for it's time I'd say it was a good game. fps and fov problems, no achievements in the 64-bit version, and a painfully mid story. you're likely to find something much better for your $10.

14 on sale1 answered “not sold”0 we did not ask
The 1 “not sold” market is read from the Steam price pass of Sep 7: that day the store answered for this game elsewhere and gave no price there. The 14 priced markets are the same rows as the table above — each the latest price we hold, dated here when it is older than that pass. The 0 marked “not asked” were not put to this store at all — either it has no storefront there or we do not collect it yet, and neither is a statement about the game. A refusal is a refusal on one day; a store can list a title again tomorrow.

One Thing Is Certain ... This game has a way to get you engaged and make you want to just dig it and enjoy doing it till the end. All things Considered it is a game which will be enjoyed the most by those who like the old school approach, the games had back in the days. - Is it perfect? By all means no! It has numerous flaws like Sound breaking Periodically, Sound not being normalized and rough at some points, ID Software game Shenanigans (Capped at 60 fps and physics tied to the FPS), the story is somewhat blunt but still it serves mostly as a backbone on which the game progresses and nothing more, dated Graphics and all the crap you can expect to face when you decide to play a game of this era like Color Palette etc ... but still it surprises you with the obvious work behind it and all the things which are implemented and there for you to do in a game which can be bought from retail stores plus the DLC for something like 3-4 Euros. Personally it caught me by surprise having zero clue on what to expect when I bought it and started streaming it on my channel. I was expecting an old school game to take me something Like 2-3 days to finish and be done with it, but I found myself exposed to more depth and things to do in it than expected or even imagined XD You can't call it a hidden get or a must play, but as a game it respects itself to this day and can offer joy to you if you know what you are getting into and you are not misled on buying it for the wrong reasons or expect something completely different. It is not a true sandbox ... but it is sadbox-y. You have the liberty to do whatever you like in it but in the order the game wants you to. Exploring is not its strongest asset but it comes with lots of humor in it and stuff to try and get. Combat is kinda meh even though the Ai is surprisingly smart in many ways ... as many ways as it is dumb at the same time. What I bet you are going to enjoy for sure if you choose to play it ... Is Sarah (make sure to show her your BFG but don't expect to "nail" her) and your Nitro XD ... Both are in a way a secret sauce for this game which is in a way more than just an FPS ... On top of being an FPS it is a rally game, it is a card game, it is lots of mini games game and if you let it draw you inside its world ... You are going to have Fun to a certain degree :) I hope this rant helps ... but there was no other way to deliver how I feel about this game moving forward :) If you buy it ... Have fun ... even though its Multiplayer is completely dead (Servers as of writing this are up but don't expect to find any mates online to play that content unless you search for people in groups)
One of the best game I ever played
If you want a more on-rails and less-open world-esque version of the post-apoc landscape / theatre than say Fallout or other similar games, then this is likely what you'll want. More of an FPS with a few branching paths here and there, where it lets you take on things at your own pace in your own order, to a point (there's still plenty of missions that gate other missions, story / quest arcs, etc). GREAT graphics, I can't say it enough. ID TECH 5 is really amazing. It's hard to think this is 2011 material until you get up close and notice the textures have a bit of a blur to them. The next comment deserves it's own line and it's going to get it. THIS IS SOME OF THE BEST SET DESIGN / WORLD DESIGN I HAVE EVER SEEN IN A GAME, THE GRAPHICS MUST BE SEEN TO BE BELIEVED. Seriously, they're THAT good. I mean look at the scenes, tell me what's playable area, what's scenery, and what's the skybox / background / non-interactive areas? It's so hard to tell that there was only one or two times I could actually tell what was what (and I'm experienced with game design) without staring at it for several minutes. The sound and whatever background music you may hear now and then is on-point and everything it needs to be without annoying or over-used sounds like some games fall prey to. Gameplay, of-course it's there, much more on-rails like a Stalker game than say a Fallout RPG. This is no RPG, this has a story, and it's an FPS - there's no denying that. The game-play is good enough to pull you in if the scenery / environment doesn't do that on it's own, and the story might just be enough to keep you... but not everyone. The story is thin, but the gameplay and environment SHOULD make up for it for most people. Is it a must-play that everyone must try? No, likely not. HOWEVER, it's a solid game and the graphics should be experienced by everyone. Anyone who thinks they're a 3D artist (level / model designer) or graphics designer MUST play through some of this just to see the environments. Of-course as always with ID-software games, it's very very well optimized and only some very very minor pop-in notable on the sides when panning quickly left or right - in-fact that pop-in is the only detractor I could note occasionally being notable but BARELY. You have to look for it otherwise you think your brain is playing tricks on you (but it is there to keep VRAM use down, as this was back when graphics cards had 1GB max VRAM and systems usually had 2~6GB for system RAM and dual/quad core processors). So seriously, if someone was to update/up-scale the graphics and tweak the water shaders a bit (if it even needs that), this would be possible to pass off as a current-gen game if it isn't still. Everyone should give this a shot though, it's cheap enough, and the environment / set design is just off the charts. Seriously. Even as a playable tech demo this would still be worth checking out for the set pieces alone. Difficulty is pretty reasonable on easy that you shouldn't have to do over much of anything. Do give it a shot, try to stick with it, it's got it's redeeming bits including the car racing. Definitely a GOOD game if not solidly between GOOD and GREAT. Wish more games had this convincing set design. Whoever did it, is very God-tier when it came to ability.
i just finished this game for the first time, after dropping it a couple of times, and i still can’t understand: was it really that hard to make a small corridor‑style rpg? so many unfinished bits get in the way of playing. no proper ending, getting stuck in textures, no final boss or at least something more interesting, was that too much to ask? for a studio of this level, it’s downright shameful. it feels like a spit in the customer’s face. the overall impression is unpleasant, even though there was potential, and i can still praise the work of the designers and other creatives. the sequel is already in my library, i’m afraid to imagine what they did with it, especially knowing already about the agenda and all that. the aftertaste is disappointment, sad but true
id getting its worst ideas all out at once. I was gonna say I love this only because they commissioned Mark Lanegan for the credits which directly resurrected his career, following up with the incredible Blues Funeral, but brother they don't even play the credits at the end you have to select it in a menu.
The pain of finishing this game on Nightmare difficulty was insane.
awesome I am having a BLAST !! edit:- extremely underwhelming ending
