Tower defense that's just as crazy as Baloons Tower Defense (I think that's what it's called.)
Good game simple fun works on steamdeck I remember wanting this game since 2014, saw it on mobile put it on wish list. At the time i decided to play Starship defense on DSI-Ware(also good game) years pass its 2024. Finally i decided to play radient defense and it is great. Worth the 10 year wait.

Fun
The balance isn't great, but at its core, it's a really nice TD game. The port from the smartphone version isn't great; they didn't invest much time in it, and there are no graphics options (or even resolutions). However, since I really like the basic concept, it doesn't bother me too much. Anyone experiencing extremely low FPS should disable FreeSync; it seems to be a bug. As soon as I start the game with FreeSync enabled, the FPS drops to single digits.
I first bought this game on a nook tablet, after that storefront died and my tablet did too I thought the only available version was going to be the f2p trashcan version on google play. If I could get this on my phone I would be overjoyed. All that aside the game is a very chill and well made simple tower defense game with cheesy text dialogue and nice visuals. I enjoy it quite a lot!
Great game overall, funny designs creative towers and not too grindy but I believe the levels themselves are sometimes a little too difficult, not saying I don't appreciate challenge but it get's a little frustrating when you can't do anything because your towers swap targets. overall 8.5/10 you get a bang for your buck, a fun time killer TD game that has a unique gimmick and funny dialouge
Babciu!
I really want to love Radiant Defense, and there is a lot to love; the aesthetic is great, and the path-building allows you to form much more complex and personal strategies than a lot of other TD games out there. However, the turret behavior is a huge problem. There's no ability to give your turrets targeting priorities; they just target the first thing they can, then the furthest along the track. This lack of control does open up some opportunities for strategizing around their priorities, but mostly it cuts off opportunities. Even worse, the turrets have idle animations, and will spin randomly when not targeting an enemy. If this happens with a slow turret (e.g. the flamethrower), when an enemy does come in range, the turret can be pointing in completely the wrong direction. It can take *several seconds* for it to get back in position, and all the while, enemies are flooding past it. I wish I could love this game, but I feel like I spend more time fighting the stupidity of my own towers than I do the enemy, and for me that's a deal breaker.
