I cannot recommend this game even for $0.99. It has too many fatal flaws. For a game released in 2025 claiming to be a Metriodvania it barely feels like one since you die in a single hit. Sure you get a few abilities (I made it to the third boss before calling it quits, more on that later) but you don't attack in any way and jumping on the bosses is your main attack so I'd honestly say the "About" for this game is quite misleading. You can't say "has many of the abilities you've come to expect from a Metroidvania" when you have no agency over doing damage, touching enemies kills you instantly, and you die in a single hit to all other obstacles. If anything this game takes some of the more poorly thought out ideas form Metroidvanis of old and runs with them while adding a few more from precision platformer games. These include: [list] [*]Dying in a single hit which is not fun in any way, it's essentially a precision platformer. [*]An annoyingly long death animation. For a precision platformer this is unforgiveable. Respawning should be instant. There is also screen shake when this animation occurs. [*]Very generic abilities [*]No ability to attack [*]Reused boss fights. I saw 3 bosses which were just reskins of each other with annoyingly long phases and one hit kills means you're barely "fighting" the boss which takes 3 hits, you're just dodging stuff waiting to jump on them over and over again. [*]No teleportation between areas so you're going to have to run around everywhere. The world is seemingly small so this isn't terrible but it's not good either. [*]When you cling to a wall you slide down it without choosing to do so. I thought we were free of this annoyance that adds nothing other than frustration years ago. Apparently not. [*]No checkpoints in every room for some reason so you sometimes go back multiple rooms. [/list] It's too frustrating and not fun. I might have been able to stomach the precision platforming element if the bosses didn't exist but they detract from the game immensely and are not fun to "fight" in the slightest. The game is inaccurately labeled, is extremely linear, and is basically a precision platformer where you get new abilities. It could have easily been a series of levels like Celeste where you gain abilities as you play the game and no one would be the wiser (other than avoiding the extremely mediocre boss fights).
