Got it on sale. Probably Remedy's most underrated game. Definitely more of a cinematic experience and can get repetitive/easy but still worth the play.
Remedy makes the coolest games in the world with some of the greatest world-building around. But the more games I played, the more the feeling wouldn't leave that none of these games have an ending. Sure, you accomplish the big goal or whatever, but it never feels fulfilling. It feels like they just stop, pushing everything off into the next game.
It's good, sort of a worse version of Control. The lore writing is bad, but I think it's made to be information-dense rather than realistic, and there were occasional glitches but I guess nothing like when the game first came out. The final boss is absolutely terrible, a lot of people (not me) give up after hours and uninstall the game. I counted about 10 writing errors, including some text that was intended to guide the art department but shipped in the game and never got patched.
Remedy went a little too far with this one...everyone using Lumia phones is beyond the "new weird".
There are just a few annoyances, including final frustrating battle - but other than that this game is amazing. Amazing story, great execution (I can't believe it's from 2016, looks really good), interesting concept (game, choices, live shows). It was really enjoyable to go through it twice in a row, just to try the other choices, which I generally don't do with other games. Actors were great too. And Beth's story, that's something.
