QUADRICOLOR is the best competitive platformer game I have played since Speedrunners and Move or Die! Tha main mechanic of coloring the tiles to win adds a lot of spice to the more traditional (very precise) controls. I've already played online and locally with friend in the couch, both in battle royale and coop modes, the experience is always fluid. Even playing solo the adventure or to get the world record is fun - speedrunners will love this mode! The mood created by the Artistic Direction in general and the sound design/graphics design and music in particular, are the cherry on the cake - I really felt transported back to the 90's! I've played the free demo for hours and now just bought the complete game and will play it even more!
Very cool game! I tested the demo and had fun playing in local multiplayer, and it was already very fun. And with the final version, I played the story mode which is a nice addition. Special moment fighting the boss of the 3rd World, which is pretty challenging 😅
Quadricolor is such a fun surprise! The gameplay is fast, colorful, and super satisfying once you get the hang of the mechanics. It’s perfect for both local and online multiplayer sessions — chaotic in the best way. The vibrant sentai-inspired style gives it a unique and charming identity. There are plenty of game modes to enjoy, especially Chromatic Battle and Time Trial (my favorite!). The replay feature is excellent too — great for improving your skills and watching the action again. Highly recommended for anyone who loves quick, skill-based arcade games!
QUADRICOLOR : 60 seconds of pleasure, one game at a time This game to me is one of the best party games around. Whether you want to play solo, online or with your friends on the couch, this game is a fast paced competitive slugfest that will have you laugh, sweat, curse, scream, rage even… but most of all, have a lot of fun. Basically, the game throws you into a small 2D map that has a set number “Qi‑Cells” that you have to take control of, and you get 60 seconds to take ownership of those by shooting “Qi‑Bullets” to spread your colour. Most maps have a variation of environmental elements like bumpers, teleporters, hazards etc.. As soon as all the cells are all coloured, the power ups appear in the map and … Oh boy, you get an arsenal of colour bombs, white bombs, others make your opponents start spraying your own colour. By the time you get to the last ten seconds, it’s a rush to balance the score in your favor. Games feel frantic and most of the time, undecided until the very last second which feeds into the chaotically fun vibe of the game. Games modes : Story mode : - The story mode is pretty decent without giving you a lot of content. - 4 worlds with 9 maps in it, 4 bosses to beat to either access the next world or finish the story. - Difficulty gets pretty steep by world 3 so a nice challenge to get to the end of this one - It sets the game, allows you to hone your skills for online play - Allows you to unlock new characters (Greyu's minions) - Can be played coop Online / Multiplayer mode : - Casual or ranked online matches - Also supports local multiplayer / couch‑co‑op. ( My personal favorite) - Up to 4 can play in different ways, each for his own or teams of 2 vs 2 Time Trial : - Basically the name says it all, paint the map as fast as possible - Really only for the most skilled player, check some of the replays to see for yourself - An online tournament is set up about every month or so. Sentai school : - Basically a tutorial with a fancy name What i like most - Pick‑up‑and‑play accessibility: The one‑minute rounds and intuitive gameplay makes the pace frantic and also allows for quick games. - Strong multiplayer potential: Especially for local multiplayer, if you can bring friends to your couch to play, it becomes a banger. - Visual style and chaos: The bright colours, arenas with hazards and power‑ups, and the old school sentai style really works for me - Replay and mastery elements: This game is hardcore and it pushes you to get better to be able to compete Areas That Could Be Improved / Things to Consider - Depth for single‑player or casual players: If you’re mainly playing solo or not highly competitive, the depth may feel somewhat limited compared to larger arena shooters. - Balance between skill and randomness: With hazards, power‑ups and chaotic arenas, some matches may feel tilted by randomness rather than pure skill. If you prefer very controlled competitive matches, this might be frustrating. - Story mode length / variety: The story portion is a welcome addition and it’s competitive enough to have you spend some time but all in all, it might seem short to some. - Learning curve for casual players: While easy to pick up, mastering dash, shield, correct power‑up usage, and arena layouts takes practice… a lot of it. Final Verdict To me QUADRICOLOR: Ultra Sentai Color Ranger is a very enjoyable arena shooter that finds a nice balance between accessible fun and competitive edge. Rounds are short, action is bright and frantic. To me the game reaches its peak if you can share it with live people on a couch… lots of laughter and trash talking to be expected. Given the variety of game modes and the small price i’d say this one hits the mark.. Almost dead center.
