Supergiant Games don't miss. Every single one of their titles is a masterpiece, artistically and narratively. Bastion and Hades are amazing games with hack and slash gameplay, and are largely familiar in a typical gamers mind. Pyre however is nothing like what I've ever played. Is it sports game? Kind of, but it also has RPG elements, and tons of unique characters. Is it a visual novel? Kind of. Is Hades a visual novel? There's certainly plenty of dialogue in that game, but is it right to label it that? Pyre is an Experience. The companions you recruit - Exiles - are actually in your hands. When you fail, they fail with you - and failure is meaningful. There are no redos. And at the end of the day, Pyre is not about its overarching story. It's about the Exiles - and the bonds between you. Occasionally, its about the adrenaline rush of desperately trying to get a little energy ball into a pyre.
Basket ball would be a lot more interesting if the players had to jump into a burning hole.

Great characters. Weird but fun sportsball game. Genuinely tough decisions to make. If I make the best story decision I will make the game harder for myself. Great music.

Pyre is an absolutely stunning game ! Not only are the visuals beautiful, the music is also a pure delight, and it's story is one that'll tug at your heartstrings. The characters are all very unique and distinct, I found myself rooting for everysingle one of them and not being able to free them all is quite litteraly tragic. The gameplay is original, addictive and can offer quite the challenge ! Once again, SupergiantGames show their mastery in creating some of the most beautiful and memorable video game experiences ! This is a must play that any and everyone should experience at least once !!

It's kind of odd, a sports game in a party based RPG wrapping. I love the story and characters. Super Giant always nails the art, sound, and atmosphere. There is a set of choices at the end of the game that can change the outcome a number of times so it has good replayability. The story is great, and gameplay is simple but fun. I recommend this to everyone I know who is into gaming.
I bought it because its an alternative sports game, which is a lot of fun to play around with, however the story is gripping with characters coming out the whazoo. The art style is exquisite as per for Supergiant and the music takes you to another world. I'm struggling to walk away from it.
Ambiance is nice, sound design is great. Gameplay interesting although some mechanics are a bit overpowered. All in all a good experience
