About
Putt Down is a first person mini-golf horror. The game takes place in the same universe as Gone Golfing, but instead of a putter you have a shotgun and it will be your go to problem solver. It can be used as putter or as a regular firearm. You will need to score points and collect coins to be able buy ammo and supplies to keep you safe.
You play as John Walker, a highly neurotic man with a nicotine addiction and a history of terrible life choices. After racking up a massive amount of gambling debt, the people you owe are finally coming to collect. Just as you're about to skip town, you're kidnapped by a mysterious stranger who makes you a bizarre offer, one you simply can't refuse. Now you are stuck in a mini-golf nightmare and the only way to clear your debt is to finish the game.
Gameplay consist of trying to survive while playing mini-golf with a shotgun. You will have to manage limited ammo and supplies. Stress is a big part of the game and if your stress level is to high bad things will start to happen. All golf courses are randomized and with over 50 different courses you will have to learn to become a master shotgun golfer.
When you are finished with the main game try your luck against 5 other players. In multiplayer you will be pitted against other players and the player who finishes first with the least amount of golf strokes wins. But be careful because there are dangers lurking everywhere in this PvP mode, some of them are not even human.

Отличная игра, чтобы потерять друзей и потеряться самому в лабиринтах >_< Great game to lose your friends and be lost in a maze forever!

Short game with great course design and some interesting mechanics. I think my only criticism is that there's really not much point in shooting the ball with the shotgun vs just putting it. In fact, I think putting is actually easier since it has a more easily adjusted power setting. Maybe stress is supposed to make your putting worse? I wouldn't know, cigarettes are so cheap that I basically was always at zero stress. There are a couple rooms where shooting the ball is actually necessary, but I just hit the ball normally for like 90% of the game. Still, a fantastic game at a very reasonable price.
Call it a skill issue but at the time of this review, only 5% of people have completed the game and I can see why. The game starts off pretty good, with some bare-bones enemies typical of a horror game, including a "hide from the guy who chases you" and "weeping angel" types... But the longer you go on, the more the courses get nonsensical with what they want. The game has manual saving and heaven help you if you don't save, as they'll expect you to follow a very specific way to beat the course *and* that specific way (especially on ones requiring the ball to jump) are very inconsistent, giving you 3 attempts before you get killed and have to go back to your last save. I was willing to stomach what I said above, but as I said, it just gets worse as time goes on, demanding more and more nonsense. I don't know which floor I got to but when I saw what it wanted of me, I didn't even really attempt it. I called it there, the game was already dragging its feet and making it so much trial and error. Yeah I could definitely beat the game if I kept trying but it's just so boring when it gets to this level. I liked the idea, but hard pass. I recommend Greener Grass Awaits if you haven't tried it.
Game is a very interesting concept, short but interesting, plus multiplayer with friends, i'd say it was worth the six dollars for this little 3ish hour experience.
High cortisol horror golf. Slipped on golf balls three times in a row. Ran out of smokes. Shot myself by accident on a final putt. I now have an irrational fear or Furbies. Would recommend. Horrible in the best possible way. Oh hey I also did a YouTube Video on it, feel free to check it out.
El fandom de putt down esta muriendo, dale like si eres un...
Absolutely gonna recommend it. The aesthetic is good and the gameplay seems solid so far! Delivers tense horror golf, as advertised. A great budget title at $7.
we need more content and maybe a mod menu u can obtain for beating the game only usable in servers you create tho
Shotguns and Mini Golf! Together at last!
This review contains no story spoilers Icehelm has a knack for intriguing short horror games, and for Putt Down, they're revisiting the same ground as one of their previous titles, Gone Golfing, and have added elements from other horror titles, such as Silent Hill and Five Nights at Freddy's. Then they've made the excellent creative choice of giving you a shotgun instead of a golf club. You play as John Walker, a gambling addict and all-round ♥♥♥♥ up who has racked up some serious debts with some dangerous people. Rather than wait around to see what it's like to get buried alive with two broken knees, John decides to run. He's then kidnapped by a lunatic wearing a golf ball and told that he'd like John to play a game; in return, he'd have his debts wiped clean. The game in Putt Down is mini-golf. With a shotgun. Each level has you explore for various items, shoot or avoid monsters, and complete three holes before the exit door opens. The controls are straightforward: you can shoot, move, crouch, and smoke. There is no inventory; you have only one weapon and a limited number of shells. You can buy more at vending machines throughout each level, but cash is limited. You also need cash to purchase cigarettes to lower stress and to save your game between levels. The gameplay is simple mini-golf games with an added layer of survival horror. Over the course of each level, you'll have to contend with a number of hazards. Some levels have motorised shotguns rigged to lasers lined throughout the hole, meaning you'll have to perfectly time each hit and run, or you'll be shot down. Others see you stalked by one of two invincible monsters. One is Mr Golfy, a psychotic walking golf ball and another has you being hunted down by a giant Furby called Penguu, who slowly pursues you only when you aren't looking, weeping angel style. On top of all this, all the levels have their generic suited, heavily bandaged, murderous zombies to deal with, too, so you're never at risk of getting bored. Paranoia is the chief tension inPutt Down. You'll never be comfortable taking a few seconds to line up a shot, and you'll never be certain that you'll make it to the ball after, which is the point. Putt Down keeps you on tenterhooks with its' sparse lighting, lack of soundtrack and moody sound effects. The game is cleverly designed so that you'll have to listen for danger before each shot, and this makes you more vulnerable to the jump scares. The various traps around the levels are all quite clever, too, including a great mimic trap that literally made me shout out loud. This atmosphere is enhanced by the worn, decrepit architecture, which gives the game an oppressive feel and serves to highlight the absurdity of playing lethal mini-golf with a shotgun in a building that looks and feels like it's rotting. With two unsettling endings to serve as a capstone to this unsettling game, Putt Down is a short, fun, incredibly tense and spooky indie that should be in every horror fan's library.
