Nah. Too primative very unpolished. Should have alpha tested way more.
TL;DR
1/10: Uninteresting gameplay and atrocious graphics. Buy HunieCam Studio instead if you want a short management game with no grinding.
Overview
Publisher Tycoon is what HunieCam Studio would have been if it had little decision making and zero replay value: A quick management sim which grinding is impossible because the player has a fire under their butt to make as much money in as little time as possible. The main difference is that there's a bit of a story in where the player assumes the role of a girl who's feelings for a boy weren't mutual, so the girl starts her own publishing company with the aim of making US$20 million at the end of eighteen months. (Talk about non-sequitor!)
Graphics and Sound
The graphics are nothing special. Apart from the stats screens the player needs to see when the information is it's most helpful, there's a picture of an office at the top center of the screen which never changes (even after the player upgrades to the fancy schmancy level 5 office), and the top right corner features the main character behind a desk which does nothing for the game, because the player can obviously tell of the main character is working not just because of the time listed on the post-it note on the top left corner of the screen, but the sun is out on the picture of the city in the background when it's day, and it's dark when it's night time. https://steamcommunity.com/sharedfiles/filedetails/?id=1668401789 The sound is limited to mere clicks and two tracks of ambient music (one of which featuring a piano) that works as a fine substitute for anesthesia. Fortunately, this is one of those cases where the developer seems to realize that the music sucks, because the music can be muted. (This author recommends playing The Beatles' song Paperback Writer in the background.)
Positives
It's tempting to just write "not applicable" and skip to the negatives, but Publisher Tycoon is cheap. Far from the cheapest game one can buy on Steam, and if a player wants something inexpensive that's more than just "complete the puzzle and see some anime tiddies," players can enjoy the fact Publisher Tycoon is perfectly SFW. How many other games exist in the world that feature running any sort of book publishing companies? Ol' Il Pallino never has seen one before, if you're not familiar with the author, he's got an ooey gooey soft spot for management games and will play anything that dates as far back as the mid-1980's.
Negatives
Did you ever play a management game and think to yourself "this storyline is really good"? Either you've played TransRoad:USA or you're lying. Anyone who plays these sorts of games is obviously looking to make money, and would be happy to make money just for the sake of making obscene amounts of money. Publisher Tycoon does do one thing to make the storyline less boring and less predictable, and it isn't even a plot twist. Only this feature does nothing to make the game any more or less enjoyable. The two biggest gripes about Publisher Tycoon, and they both go hand-in-hand, is that there's no achievements, and with no achievements, there's no replay value. First the player understands how to play the game, then the player understands just how aggressive they need to be in their decision making, then the player wins, and then the player never plays the game again.
Conclusion
Someone asked the author if there's anything he gets for free through ReviewExperts that he recommends against purchasing. The reason why games that ol' Il Pallino gives positive recommendations more often than not, is because he only downloads and reviews games that he thinks he'll like. Sadly, Publisher Tycoon wasn't one of those games. If a developer isn't going to make a game with any replay value, make sure there's no competition to your game. For a few dollars more, a player can buy HunieCam Studio and play for a much longer time and with a more interesting sort of company to run. If a player can save up a significant amount of money (or have friends or family gift them Steam gift cards), a player can get TransRoad: USA if they need to play a management game with a storyline. If a player must spend those last few dollars in their Steam wallet, a set of trading cards to a favorite game will at least result in the player being able to display a badge on their profile and increasing their chances of being awarded a booster pack when someone crafts a badge. An absolutelky terrible 'game', a lack of instructions combined with a unrealistic starting amount, a interface where information is hidden and just... avoid
Very unpolished. Very buggy. Can go from over a million in the black to over a million in debt, which pauses the game. No way to save and exit. Literally had to "task Manager" my way out of it. Starting amount gives you nothing to work with to start.

cute little game and i can highly recommend it, i know it was a mobile game, but its fun and it can get busy, very quickly
it could be better with a few updates but ts okay for a few hours
Not good at all 18 months is just not long enough to build 20 million the closest i have come is 9 million in about 12 playthrough's i wouldn't waste you time or money on this, to be honest i would not even recommend this if it was free
