psycron is one of the best games i've played this year (alongside the obvious metroid dread!) i love the movement, combat, music, there's a lot to love! i for sure plan on getting all the achievements, only 5 left, most timed ones since i really took my time with the game and trying to find everything there is to find. i followed the game for a few months before release, and it was what i was primarily playing day of release and the day or two following. it's not the longest game, especially if 100% isn't a think you like about these sorts of games, however the gameplay is a blast. it's pretty simple, however has a whole lotta polish. the boss fights are a blast, and the soundtrack slaps (even the bonus cut track) and i find myself listening to it quite often. i've really never found myself super into any indie games in the past, however theres a first for everything i suppose. overall, i'd highly recommend psycron, especially if you're into the metroid series as i am. even if you've never played those, it's still a great game, well worth the price.

Missed an important item and ended up in a virtually impossible chase scene with no way back, ruining my save... meh. I found the game unsurprising and a bit boring, I’d recommend it only if you desperately need your metroidvania fix and have played all the best ones already.
10/10 GOTY
a very good metroidvania, if a bit short. music's good, art's good, action is enjoyable and movement feels buttery smooth. there's clear inspiration from games like metroid fusion and maybe a bit of environmental station alpha as well.
TAM BİR Metroidvania GİRİŞ OYUNU AMA SAKIN...SAKIN BU OYUN İLE Metroidvania'ya TÜRÜNE GİRİŞ YAPMAYIN. TÜRDEN SOĞURSUNUZ!
Fun, short game. Bosses provide a bit of a challenge, but aren't ball-crushing hard for no reason. The writing is a little cringe but there's not much of it anyway.
The game is too zoomed in. This covers the fact that most screens are very short and basic. It was so-so on the immersion front, some music tracks could have been better. It's obvious that a lot of effort went into it, and I know there's people out there that enjoyed it, but it failed to hook me. I'd recommend Environmental Station Alpha, Escape to Tethys or Outbuddies DX over this one (Longer games, but even from the start I wasn't having the issues i'm having here with those games). Oddly, i think even the shorter, quite simple & generic 'Cosmic Bit' did more for me somehow.
