Honestly, I'm disappointed in this game's release. Prop Sumo is an asset flip of Witch It that originated from an in-studio game jam event (which is where this game should have stayed). The combat is mindless, and there is no meaningful progression or any of the staples that make a good modern fighting/party game. This is the kind of game most dev studios would release for free as a bit of April Fools’ joke fun, yet it’s now being sold to consumers at a price I would not recommend paying. It has taken development time and resources away from their other dying game, which is seemingly on life support & rather than being entertaining for hours, like their previous title, Prop Sumo will leave you asking, "Who asked for this?"
The game “Prop Sumo” is the second game from Barrel Roll Games. It promises epic battles in epic arenas. I couldn't find any of that. The battles are chaotic, and you die very quickly over and over again because the maps are all much too small. The game uses old assets from the game “Witch It,” which look good there but seem out of place in a so-called fighting game. The in-game music sounds cheap, and the voice lines (3, 2, 1, fight) sound a lot like a bad AI voice. If you join a server, the server host can kick you out of the game at any time, so you can really only play with friends, not with random players. I think the game is a niche title for Witch It players; there weren’t many players in the game even on release day. The game would be much better off as an additional game mode in Witch It, as DLC for example. Also the game much to expensive with around 10 Euro. (7,50 Euro now in sale) Unfortunately, I don’t recommend it.
You can place cat ears on props.
I'm only giving this game a 👍 because it is fun and there are 100% people that will also enjoy this with their friends but really this is not what i wanted to see from the dev team. Their main game, Witch it, it's been out for years and still feels like an early access game that needs a lot of improvements. They could've used their time and resources to finally make that the game that me and the dedicated community really wanted. I get that working on the same project for a decade is exhausting and this project was like a break from all that but Witch It had lots of oppostunities to become something bigger but all got missed and that makes me kinda disappointed to say at least. But yeah, if you like fighting games with weird and funny twist check this game out!
Prop Sumo / Ikea: Fantasy Warriors is a simple and chaotic brawler that gives off Super Smash Bros in 3D vibes. You customize a bunch of fantasy props (your fighters) the way you want, stuff like a crystal ball, a sunflower, a sarcophagus, a mandrake... I felt it was easy to get into the mechanics, matches are quick and chaotic in a fun way, specially when multiple players collide at once. There’s a decent amount of match customization (lives, round time, respawns, map rotation, amount of fighters, pick ups on/off, enable or disable skills... ), and you can fill private lobbies with bots if you just want to mess around or practice before facing other players. Controls feel simple and responsive, which is pretty much essential for a PvP game. That said, It’s the kind of game that’s easy to jump into for a few matches but still chaotic enough to keep you coming back, specially playing it with a friend/s (the Friend Pass is nice since you can just invite someone in without much hassle. Bots seemed smart too, maybe more than my close relatives. I’d love to see even more map variety or unique stage mechanics in the future (there’s already a solid selection) but as it stands, it’s a fun and accessible party brawler that’s perfect for short and chaotic sessions.
Little funny Super Smash Bros type of game. Controls are nice, the movement and fighting are smooth and there's quite some variety in maps, abilities and your fighters (but not much difference between them tho). Plus, the customization is reeeally cool c: This game is a great choice for chill party sessions and also can be played with randoms if there're open lobbies available. And if you own a copy of a game your friends can easily join through friendpass, so I'd say Prop Sumo is a great choice for its price :)
Насчет игры не знаю, но поиграть не получилось, типы не могут зайти ко мне в комнату, короче говно ♥♥♥♥♥♥♥ ♥♥♥♥ мать разраба
Silly fun fighting game. Don't expect super balanced mechanics/characters it's definitely not smash but it has it's own fun quirky playstyle that's fun with friends. The fact it's got a friend pass that lets 8 people play for under $10 makes this a pretty solid buy if you actually have friends to play with. Makes for fun drinking/party games on every "out". Would like to see CPU added so I can spectate CPU battles or stream them but for it's price I can't complain.
A very chaotic and fun game with friends! ≽^•⩊•^≼
