Nearly one half of Syria’s 23 million people have been displaced in its civil war and no group has been as severely affected as children. Children make up more than half of the three million refugees living in camps some news reports indicate that children are actually being specifically targeted in the violence.

Despite being free it was not worth the download. You're basically just standing still while being transported from one boring scene to the next. During this you get some basic information about how many kids refugees there is from Syria, and it's over within 2-3 minutes. If you just opened a newspaper recently you already know more than what this short demo tells you. It doesn't make you go wow, it doesn't make you engaged, it doesn't give you any immersion on how it is and maybe it's just me who's cold, but it didn't make me feel anything but bored. Download if you are having fun and want to feel bored.
AVOID! This is just pathetic and I'm not talking about subject matter. This is like halfassed attempt of raise-awarenes leaflet as can be. If you want the message to be heard this simplistic no-effort glued together assets it's not a way to do it. Not even worth the download time and bandwith and last like 2 minutes. Anyoone would make better app than this one in an hour. Shame on you developers for screweing so simple task. Had to let it run for additional 3 min just to write this review and that tells everyting.

The immersion doesn't kick in. Even free, this simply isn't worth it. However, the basic idea of using VR to make a human connection to people and groups we only see described in dry news feeds is the kind of unsexplored posibilities that makes me get exited about VR. Also, this VR experience annoyed a lot of racist nutters! For this reasons, I clicked the thumbs up - this is the kind of stuff that gives me hope for our future. But don't download - instead, imagine what this could have been.
Just a propaganda piece.
Pro-refugee leftist propaganda created by what can only be described as inept morons with 5 minute lesson tier grasp of unity and graphics that 1998 would frankly embarassed by. This ♥♥♥♥ doesn't belong on Steam...the only Steam part of this is the Steaming pile of ♥♥♥♥ that was presented before me. Get a grip leftists...did you spend all that George Soros money already? Is this the best you can do? Come on.
This somewhat reminds me of one of those "scare ads" about how you should donate to this organization to stop the thing. I honestly ran this on a R7 240 (no lie) and it was pretty boring to be honest. I feel like this is a Youtube video rather than a game, to be honest. I'm not trying to be offensive or anything.
Too short (2-3 minutes) and low quality, but a big download (1GB). Didn't even bother to add VR controller support so you have to keep your keyboard or mouse close to start it.
I feel offended by this...

Project Syria is an absolute masterpiece! Nah... As much as I love some positive vibes, Charity's, Making the world a better place or bringing awareness about important things in life, I have to say this “game” sucks and is very poorly executed. Project Syria isn't even a game, it's an 2/3 minute lasting “experience” An “experience” to see what children in Syria go through in a civil war. They don't give much information. It looked really bad. I have seen the demo and in the demo you were able to walk around! Here you can't. You just wait for the scene to end. It doesn't feel like an experience either. Zero engagement and interaction. I know how important this topic is, I know how horrible it is for the children, I know what was or is happening in Syria. The thought behind it was great! But it just didn't have the effect they were hoping for. If you are really interested in what is happening in Syria try Google, YouTube, a newspaper, a book... Everything is more useful than Project Syria.
