Stigma my beloved. Game's a blast. Highly recommend.
Ugh I guess I bought all your stupid games you have on Steam, cuz i like you or something and I really like all the work you put in. Smh, cant believe i just supported you by buying every single thing you had, and like... ugh i think i actually like it, cuz the gameplay is so addictive and the art is actually great, and I GUESS i like all the characters and the amount of time you put into the lore for everything. Gosh im never gonna do that again unless APLoveStudio (whos lies i believe in) releases something else.
I love this game. So far i've been coming back to it again and again. I think I'll keep coming back eve after it's finished. I love the artstyle too. I kinda wish my own OC could get added as playable but I know that's probably never gonna happen. Regardless, the gameplay is addicting, the lore is super indepth. and the characters are memorable. Looking forward to whatever this dev comes up with next!
I wish to go give some disclaimer before this review also this takes place before solace inc, This is made by Aplove and features a bunch of characters from his other games which most of them can be disabled through the cameo settings however you will miss out on a few interactions so I would say to play some of his other games before this one and I will provide a link however if you do not want to spoil things avoid solace inc as it takes place after project malice. https://store.steampowered.com/app/2542450/AploVVare_Collection/ Alright where to begin the game is hard to learn so I am splitting them into sections which I will reference in this first is「Settings」once you got that set up you just need to learn about ⊲Mechanics▻ Which yeah I am not explaining all of that next is ◣Exploration◥ I am eepy I will finish this later. 「Settings」 When starting out so I would recommend changing them to your liking and I suggest binding the camera keys from arrow keys to IJKL and set O as your shoot button and keep your cursor around your character so you can melee better and auto aim will likely track enemies for you. ⊲Mechanics▻ There is a ranking system in this game doing certain actions will increase it for instance killing enemies which upon killing certain enemies on the highest rank M they will drop special items, But don't just kill enemies and if you do their level will go up which can be seen in your inventory, You will find items and enemies can drop them they are key to winning, You can parry or block by pressing shift. ◣Exploration◥ Every dungeon for the most part is randomly generated using premade rooms which means you can learn the layout pretty easily and you need to find an exit for the next floor it sometimes is blocked by a lock and you will have to find a key that is floating somewhere in the map, In certain area's if you hit or walk into something you may find secrets that lead to special area's with special rewards.
Project Malice is a really underrated gem that should get more attention! This game gave me a breath of fresh air in terms of mechanics, and although some things could be better, it´s a game that constantly gets updates and adds new features to improve said downsides. In my experience, I got really immersed in the story (and side-stories), which are really interesting, and in terms of gameplay I can´t think of a game more unique than this one, at least on the genre. That being said, you should give it a try!
This is one of the most niche titles I have ever picked up, but I'm glad I did. The gameplay can be pretty jank at times, but if that's not too big a problem for you, this game offers a surprising lot of content and world-building in return.
It's rough around the edges, and it's quite easy overall. Good roguelike to relax with.
i was hesitant, so glad i gave it a shot. really fun. love the art style, works perfectly on Steam Deck. a YES in my book!
This is a game I've had a lot of fun in for the four hours(at the time of writing the review) I've played. It's The world seems interesting. The dev provided a fix to a crash I, and maybe others, was having within a 24 hour time period. Wonderful customer support! ---=== Pros ===---

Combat is pretty fun. It's pretty easy to learn the dos and don'ts.
I appreciate that the Refuge includes a To-do list to help you plan route you might want to take to knock out certain challenges.
Speaking of the Refuge. If you've looped back after completing a set of floors, you can switch between the characters you've unlocked, and buy from the merchant.
The visual style of the game is charming, along with the music.
There are plenty of secret areas, and bosses. You definitely won't see everything on a successful run.
Before I get on with the Cons/Bugs, I understand that this is an Early Access title and is bound to change as time goes on. ---=== Cons/Bugs ===---

I've noticed some errors in dialog boxes where certain letters don't render properly. I've seen it happen with the letter F the most. I'm uncertain if this is because I play with the camera zoom lower so that I can see more of the environment.
The Mistake enemies don't seem to remember what character you were using when you find them after a failed run. They usually seem to default to Kate.
Sometimes cut-scenes fail to play. I've missed character introductions because of this.
Some locations, like the Warehouse, have a forced POV from a security camera that makes navigation difficult. You can't see where you're going when you move into a hallway, and when it switches to another camera, your controls are changed to suit the new POV. I have lost good runs because of this.
---=== Conclusion ===--- This game has a lot of potential, and I'm really excited to see how the story unfolds. The combat itself is engaging, and fun. The characters are charming, and the world's lore is really interesting, and there are many secrets to be found. I'm really excited for future updates. Expect changes to this review as time goes on.
