It all begins with the discovery of a broken robot on the Moon. But when you grab its chip for further investigation, a whole army of robots appears and comes after you. Fortunately, this was just a nightmare, and you awaken in your bed just as you’re about to die. As it turns out, however, this was a vision of something that will come true. Gameplay involves exploring locations and interacting with objects to progress. First, you need to get ready for work and search your apartment for items. Then, after teleporting to your workstation via the toilet teleporter, you must change some fuses and turn on the power to research a crystal brought from space. The tasks you need to complete are revealed by you, the professor, or your assistant Sara. Both characters speak with a strong but entertaining Soviet accent. Objectives are always visible, so you’ll never be confused about what needs to be done. Although there are no visual waypoints or highlights, you won’t waste time wandering aimlessly because the locations are small. Sometimes you can open cupboards or drawers, but unless they contain an objective-related item, you cannot interact with anything else. Nothing is highlighted when you approach it, so you need to place the mouse cursor at the center of the screen on suspicious objects and wait for a prompt to appear. This will usually allow you to open something or pick it up. There’s no inventory management; items are used automatically when you interact with the relevant spot, as long as you’ve picked up the item first. Another part of the problem-solving involves logical puzzles. These aren’t very difficult and typically require turning a few knobs correctly, entering a number, or matching a pattern. After some light work in the laboratory, you are transported to a robot station. Here, you must navigate a maze and collect several keycards. The cards are attached to the backs of robots patrolling the maze, so you need to approach them from behind. The robots cannot turn around, allowing you to grab the card without being caught, but this triggers their hunt mode, increasing their speed. The more cards you collect, the more robots you’ll have to deal with. Fortunately, it’s quite manageable once you realize that robots cannot enter your starting room. You can simply stand between the doors, wait for a robot to pass by, quickly run after it to steal the card, and return to the room—repeating the process for the others. Even getting caught isn’t a major problem, since you only lose one card at a time. After completing a few more tasks in the lab, you enter the final and worst part of the game. This involves shooting small robots that continuously attack you. The goal is to collect enough orbs they drop to fully power your gun and damage the large robot in the center. This must be repeated several times to finally destroy the robot, but the fight is made more difficult by lasers emitted by the robot. The more damage you inflict, the more lasers you must dodge. The only reliable strategy is to run around the robot and focus on the small robots in front of you. Any attempt at fancy maneuvers, such as zig-zagging or jumping, results in quick death and forces you to restart the fight. Once you succeed, the game ends after roughly an hour and a half of gameplay. It doesn’t provide a proper conclusion, instead ending with a “to be continued” message. The entire experience is short and straightforward, with story-based achievements, except for one missable achievement, which requires playing a handheld game. Overall, an enjoyable little game, though it feels overpriced for what it offers.
