As such it’s barely recognizable as a member of the genre and feels quite novel. It also deviates in a lot of other ways, with a heavy emphasis on story between levels, and (unfortunately) almost zero difficulty because you basically can’t lose a level. Instead all you get is a 1-3 star rating depending on how “good” you did, with random movements often good enough for 1 star. I suppose the upside of this is that you’ll be guaranteed to be able to progress in the story if that’s what motivates you. The other aspect that holds it back is a lack of polish and clarity; the game is constantly changing up the goals that you are supposed to be achieving (not just high score!) but it’s often hard to tell exactly what the new goals are and you never have any idea of whether or not you’ve done a 1-2 or 3 star performance until you have actually finished the level. That said, the game delivers on the novelty side quite well, not just with the fresh match-3 mechanic, but also by constantly changing the goals between levels so that gameplay never feels rote. There are enough good ideas for several games here, I think. Plus, the storyline is fun and a surprisingly effective motivator to keep on playing. In the end I strongly recommend this game (8/10) IF you don’t mind the ultra-casual “can’t lose” aspect, but give it a solid “meh” (5/10) if challenge is important to you.

ahhh i really like princess farmer. this game is very, very cute and the nature of the puzzles is fairly fresh and crunchy for my experience in match-3s. rounds don't take too long, and the palette and charming art are a real treat for the eyes. our protagonist is cute, and always having the option to be completely at a loss is cute. the game makes me smile even if I've had a bad day. maybe it will make you smile too.

I am unsure if this is the cutest video game I have ever played, but it is certainly the cutest match 3 I have ever played.

Pretty fun and cute game! Not much for match-3 games but I still enjoyed myself and all of the cute characters. There are a lot of little aesthetical flourishes that really make you feel the developer's care for the game, which is cool.

Great little game of feel good characters and a charming art design. The puzzle gameplay is simple and rewarding, with differing styles built in, suitable for both the novices and the pros of match 3 puzzles! Character customization is plentiful but simple, mostly customizing character color pallets, outfits, and sparkly glitter. You can purchase more color pallets from Rowan's shoppe with in-game currency won through refreshing challenges, good performance in puzzles, and reaching challenge milestones. The story is simple, charming, and with heartwarming dialogue. The accompanying character portraits adds another layer of charm and delight to each sentence. However, once the story is over, there is not much to do aside from use the Quickplay feature. I beat the story as an "Action Bun" in about 5 hours. The standout for me in this game is the music. I still find myself listening to the soundtrack even after finishing the game. True and undying props to Astra Tanuki for making such a catchy and pretty soundtrack! The only real issues with this game is the low replayability for those who are more so here for the story, characters, or writing as compared to the puzzles. Quickplay will allow you to keep playing to your heart's content. But once the story is over, the buns are off to their own adventures. Judging from the "Season 1" in the launch screen, it seemed that more was planned but since the last update was in 2022, I unfortunately am not certain there will be any updates for this cute little game. Another big issue that I ran into quite often was bugs. I ran mostly into game crashes or forced ratio changes due to Alt-Tabbing. The game is very well polished but not bug free, so I would not recommend alt tabbing willy nilly. I also have ran into one or two instances where the puzzle just completes itself if I stay on the objective screen of the puzzle without starting it. Mostly just silly little bugs. What a treat this game was to play. It is a wonderful game that will bring a few hours of comfort and delight, and many more for the match 3 fan that loves bunnies, veggies, and banging music. I would absolutely recommend to buy it, but while I love this game, I would say $15 is a bit of a steep spend for a game with a story so short and having just match 3 puzzles and not much else to offer gameplay wise. Wait for a sale before buying unless you are a match 3 fanatic. Thank you Whitehorn Games and team for the delightful experience! Please add more story to the game, I miss the bunnies already!

It's pretty and gay. That's pretty gay. It's a cutesy match 3 game that doesn't take itself too seriously. It's shamelessly inspired by things like Sailor Moon and shamelessly colourful and vibrant. There's a lot of commitment put into the game's overall look. I don't like all of the character designs, but everything from the them to the levels to the VHS-themed chapter selection are done well. The latter I really like. The story is silly, but fun and it's a nice little romp. The music is nice too. Overall it's not flawless, but I really like the gay bunny magical girl farmer match 3 game.

If you like puzzles, cute art and great music, this is a solid one. The achievements happen as easily as playing through the game and enjoying the story. The puzzle mechanics were new to me but endlessly addictive. I love the various modes for Quick Play, they'll keep me coming back to this game, when I'm not playing Balatro for a million hours.
