Very challenging language deducing game. If you enjoyed Chants of Senaar, Epigraph or Heaven's vault give it a try! Very impressive effort for a solo dev

You need to be focused and try to remember everything, but it is a good point and click with an interesting gameplay based on language. I like playing short sessions on it, so I have not finished it yet, but I will! If you are looking for a challenging point and click, do not hesitate! It is a good game.

Finally got all achievements after ~38 hours. Really fun game. Well made. Early version had some bugs but dev was really great at fixing everything I annoyed them about. Older review below (we're currently 3rd version): Many great puzzles throughout, had a lot of fun. I didn't learn the whole language (yet) but the language learning aspect was great. Great writing, interesting characters, and again, loved the puzzles. Below is review for older version of game. Despite glitches I was having a lot of fun with the game up until glitch where I couldn't continue. I loved the language learning aspect. I've been craving something like that since finishing Tunic. But crashes, inconsistent language journal, and then suddenly not being able to make progress was just too much to give a higher score. 7/10 still had fun but can't recommend unless you're luckier than me with glitches, the glitches get fixed, or you're as tolerant as I am with the issues. (Dev has responded, I'm changing review because I'm encouraged issues will be dealt with. And really I did have a lot of fun despite issues.)

Really a gem of a game, for 3$ its really a steal if you like point n click and puzzle games. It has all the charm of classic point n click adventures, but with more engaging puzzles. I've only reached the normal Ending so far and i think i'm still ways away from figuring out the language to fully see everything this game has to offer.

While there are some bugs and some QoL updates that could be helpful, this is nonetheless a multilayered game with a similar language mechanic to Chants of Senaar and a game with that level of design and depth for this price is an absolute steal.

Poumosa is a deceptively intricate game. I decided to play it on the recommendation of others in a puzzle focused Discord server, and I am ever so thankful I did. It was made by a solo developer, which is extremely impressive already, but what I truly enjoyed was the sense of joy and care evident in every aspect of the game. As others have mentioned, it is a wild mix of point and click adventure game and language decryption games like Chants of Sennaar or Epigraph. I have not yet been able to decypher the Poumosan language completely, but I had a lot of fun trying to figure it all out. The puzzles were very fun and challenging at times, and the game has this wonderful current of self-aware humour and silliness that is extremely unique. Actually, I am not a fan at all of moustaches, but I did love my time with the Poumosan people and the world. For some reason, the game did not like my particular PC but there have been numerous patches that have greatly improved that issue. I will say that the auto-save is extremely generous so I was always able to pick up where I left off, and I personally did not mind that minor issue much since I was so engrossed in the story, the characters, and the puzzles. As others have said, it is a steal at it's full price because there is a lot of game to enjoy.

Very fun language decipherment game. Despite being rough around the edges (single dev indie game, after all), it has a lot of content, excellently constructed language, interesting puzzles and surprisingly funny dialogues. While playing I faced several bugs and frustrations that I reported, but the dev is quick to respond and fix them. Also there were several sections where I wasn't sure how to continue, however that is also subject to change with an official guide that is likely coming soon. Considering the price and the amount of content in the game, I highly recommend giving it a shot - especially to people who are looking for good language decipherment games. PS The developer should be permanently barred from creating any more games after that last secret puzzle. After hitting a wall for many, many hours while being forced to learn a language that Steam might not even allow me to cite by name, I fed up with this warul.

Quite rough around the edges, and I had occasional crashes when I played it, though the aggressive autosaving helped to make these less impactful. The game itself is a short but pretty decent adventure game, especially for the price. Worth checking out for fans of other language-deciphering games.
