About
Embracelet is a heartfelt, narrative-driven puzzle adventure set on a breathtaking, low-poly island in Northern Norway.
You play as Jesper, a 17-year-old city boy who is handed a heavy responsibility: an old, magical bracelet passed down from his grandfather. Gifted with strange, telekinetic powers, Jesper must travel to his grandfather’s childhood home, the fading fishing community of Slepp, to unravel the mystery behind the artifact.
Who does it belong to? Where did its magic come from? And why did his grandfather leave the island behind?
Use the bracelet’s mysterious powers to manipulate the world around you. Solve light, physics-based puzzles by moving objects, fixing machinery, and helping the island's quirky residents. With a gentle, forgiving difficulty curve, the gameplay is designed to be a relaxing, stress-free experience.
As you explore the island, you'll become entangled in the lives of the locals, including two other teenagers: Hermod and Karoline.

Kurzfazit:

My Score 👍 80%
(METACRITIC - 81% -)

Ist die Story wichtiger als das Spiel?

[th] 🔹 Facts 🧐☝️[/th]

https://steamcommunity.com/sharedfiles/filedetails/?id=3607918020

[th] 🔹 Grafik 🖥️[/th]

Low-Poly-Look.

https://steamcommunity.com/sharedfiles/filedetails/?id=3603737373

[th] 🔹 Sound 🎼[/th]

Really loved this. I'm a complete sucker for coming-of-age stories. It's the nostalgia of being a teenager and feeling all of these strange over-complicated emotions despite not having to worry about anything all that more complex than school (although, Jesper does experience some loss). But also being able to experience it in the framework of exploring a beautiful Norwegian island, making new friends, rather than, er... walking around an American mall, sipping a smoothie, with friends you don't even like, because hopping on a boat to a remote island wasn't an option. I only wish the island in Embracelet were bigger, that there were more folks to meet, more hangout sessions with your two new friends. All interlaced with even more magic and mystery. Maybe more complex puzzles, although the very light puzzles were fine. I could envision this game being so much more - but it was a chill three hour experience, and I have no real complaints. It was a delight. Also, Jesper is a bit of an environmental terrorist, which made me laugh, but I don't think I was supposed to??

I wish I could play the game because it seems really lovely and I liked the developer's previous game but the walking animation!!! How did this get past any testing? I am constantly getting stuck in a walking animation loop whenever I want to interact with things, and walking around is a huge chore. I would have never thought that walking will be the reason for me not being able to play a game but here we go...
What an absolutely wonderful experience it was playing this game. The mood is set from the first scene, the music superbly supports the great graphical style, and the game is just a joy to play. The narrative is a really sweet coming of age story, with twists and turns keeping it interesting till the end. I highly recommend anyone to buy and play this game.
A chill and sweet little adventure about adolescent wanderlust, family secrets, and a dash of mystery and magic.
Multiple Themes
A Visual novel, that would have benefited from a voiceover if not for the fact that it's a long game with loads of dialog. Love, life, death and regret, and even, you know when boys prefer boys. Sabotage, espionage and vandalism interspersed with a side story all about the threats to our beautiful planet fill out the plot. Something for everyone. Don't let the simple boxy graphics put you off, very good controls and puzzles.
Coming of Age
The back story follows multiple young people all trapped in circumstance. You must play a part in telling their story. Sure you have to make choices, and some choices and some objects you interact with change the way the story unfolds, but in the story arc it's pretty classic, twists and turns some predictable others not. Very much about having fun and some fantasy and magic lightens the mood of what is otherwise a deadly serious story. I missed a fair few items in my playthrough, and this may be one of very few games that I have time to play through a second time. If you enjoyed this game, you can find other much like it here https://store.steampowered.com/curator/41773079-EmpathyGames/list/91358/
The Norwegian setting and crude low-poly visuals are mostly charming, and the "teen boy investigating his grandfather's past with a magic bracelet" setup has potential. unfortunately, it seems like most of the game is set on one island, which you're asked to explore without any sort of navigational aids - no objective markers, no fast travel, not even an in-game map - and the island map is already large enough to make backtracking tedious; the fixed camera and awkward controls don't help in orienting yourself, either. maybe I'll give it another shot at some point, but that's enough to turn me off from this game for now.
nice little game with a lovely story
