━━ CONCLUSION ━━
I really wanted to enjoy this game. I loved the art style and the goofy vampire. I used a controller, knowing full well that it would be janky, but the fact I jumped in the wrong direction half the time. I had to invert the camera, despite it being inverted on start up. Oh, and for some reason my little gnome would just randomly walk a few steps on his own. I tried to turn the sensitivity down to curb that, but it didn't do anything, unfortunately. Got everything together for the first puzzle - was trying to toss the petals up, but one got stuck in the wall with the case that requires a code and I couldn't unstick it. Again, it's a shame. I did really want to like this.
only one level what a shame :(
4.1 I think this might be an early project or maybe even university project. This is judging by the fact it's free, is like the only thing by this dev on steam and just the general feel. As a project I think it's great, It has a certain layer of polish to raise it above a fair amount of similar ilk and you can tell that there is genuine passion with a lot of the feel of the game. That said there are some issues which do get a little in the way in playing it casually, but I wouldn't say any that really detracted from the core 'casual' experience. The intro and outro animation is a nicely made single png with zooms and highlighting which works for it's storybook aesthetic. The Voice Acting If done by voices (and not AI) is fine, A little stiff but again afaik and from experience I am assuming this is more or less inserting to complete the experience and not a full All out demo reel! The environment was a good size, never felt too confined and considering the character size, it never felt too large either. The camera would sometimes clip through the wall and crouching had some issues itself with going into the floor somewhat. There were a few jumps and such collecting the hats was a little annoying but again was never a major annoyance. To add off that point the storytale book pulling puzzle with the paper wasn't the clearest and I spent TOO long trying to parkour other ways on top before realising the intended way (from a video), But that is also a plus in the ability to handle platforming somewhat freely. The main objective goal was clear enough on the whole but the poison vs sleep ingredients were a little confusing, maybe I missed it but that bearing a little clearer would have cleared up some initial unguided confusion! It's imo a great start and I've certainly played/experienced projects which are a LOT rougher around the edges also. It was clear from the jump what it was setting out to be and it did that well!
great game! I love it!! However- Is there only one chapter? It seems to also have problems saving the game.
Very cute, short game. The movement can feel a little janky at times but that doesn't take long to get used to. The puzzle elements are easy to solve but challenging enough that it doesn't feel as though you're being hand-held the whole way through. The only downside is that there is only one chapter in the game, and that the chapter is entirely too short. I would be keen for more adventures with this porcelain guy. Definitely recommend, it's cute and simple and it's free, so no complaints there.
It was fun, i wish it was longer
