Do not play it right now. Give it some time before playing. The bugs are extremely annoying. You suddenly die, but your friends can still see your character and hear you, even though you already respawned. You cannot skip the intro sequence or the pages, and most of the time, they are very loud and narrated as if under some kind of influence. Then, suddenly, without any indication as to why, there is EXTREMELY LOUD music or a wolf's howling played, loud enough to let my headphones crackling. The settings do not seem to apply most of the time. Do not recommend.
Playing with two friends. It has its fair share of bugs but it is definitely worth the price. Has a feel similar to Lunch Lady mixed with a backrooms game. Pros: Great jump scares. Each enemy is unique in how you must approach them to survive Figuring out out to navigate the maze using the moon and figuring out how to navigate the mazes comfortably is fun and rewarding The game features a spray can mechanic to help find your way though the mazes which also feels fun and unique Seems like it might have some speed running value Great for friends Cons: bug where "apply changes" prompt is stuck on the screen. avoid changing settings in game as you keep retrying you have no choice to skip note dialogue making starting new runs arduous for as there are many notes in the first area no sex 8/10 needs some small updates but I look forward to more content and I hope more features, customization, and maps are available in the future

Buggy mess. Don't waste your time.
Warning: Asset Flip! The Path to Memento Mori is one of literally thousands of creatively bankrupt asset flips infesting Steam and lowering the average quality of all video games everywhere.
This rather poorly done asset flip was at least at some point potentially a genuine attempt to make a game by developers who, frankly, didn't seem up to the task, resulting in a bug riddled train wreck. One of the welcome, but now removed barriers to entry for game development was the steep skillset and budget needed to create the all too important game assets for any game. Well now FAB/Unreal Marketplace has removed that barrier... they were too busy thinking about whether or not they could that they forgot to consider whether they should. And "The Path to Memento Mori" is a prime example of the consequences... a bug riddled mess that should be carrying the "Early Access" warning. The Path to Memento Mori is partially or completely made up of stock assets, "borrowed" from asset stores and free asset websites. Little, if anything in this game is the creation of the "developer". While there's no up front price for this asset flip, the other problem with asset flips is that when developers aren't capable of doing their job and creating high quality assets, it's also true they can't do any of the rest of the job of a game developer either. That's definitely true for "The Path to Memento Mori", and this kind of asset flipping never results in games that have quality or value for PC gamers. The game graphics look better than you might expect, but that's just because it looks like some or all of them are "borrowed" from asset stores or wherever. Gamers can tell... and it comes across as insincere. There's also the old adage that those who lack the budget and talent to make their own game assets usually lack the budget and talent to do the rest of the job of game development properly, too. It's free... now, but it wasn't before. The developer was charging $12 USD for this. Yep, $12 for other people's game assets. No thanks. Price barriers, especially on low quality products, can be a direct cause of failure. It's a nice gesture for the game to be given away for free, but it also tells us that the game wasn't good enough to succeed as a paid product. Even though this is "free", it failed to appeal to the 120 million+ gamers on Steam. SteamDB showed the game peaked at only 8 concurrent players... this is a dismal public reception. This was so bad they couldn't even give it away. Bearing in mind that free games don't add +1 to your game collector count, should you bother adding this to your library and downloading it? Nope. This isn't worth downloading. While this didn't cost me any money up front, I still feel ripped off.
