The perfect city builder game for me! I enjoy city builders and zoo builders like Cities: Skyline, Jurassic World Evolution, Sims City etc and I have a great time...until things go wrong. I'm talking power cuts, burst drains, storms, building damage. That stuff happens, and then happens more frequently in some games but none of that happens here! I love it. I may update this review at a later date.
#100 Polyville Canyon Its fun for a bit. Went the entire game not realizing i was earning perk points. Didn't really matter, after a certain point, you're making so much money any discount is irrelevant. Pretty easy to pick and go, although a rundown on certain things would have been nice. I had all the achievements in about 4 but one. I set it to play in the background to get it, and realized i had over 1.2 billion dollars. So its pretty basic. I dont really see a point in replay, so about 4 hours is all your gonna get out of it. Graphics are bright, sound is meh. Get it on sale and you might average about .50 cent hour. Def. would not pay full price for it.
It's a good game to unwind and relax to. Also creating a town the way you want it, Is also pretty cool.
For the price it's worth it. This is a cute game though definitely overly simple with a few UI problems and game play choices that seem questionable. I did everything I could possibly do in this game in under 9 hours, I have a few hundred million dollars, I can build literally everything 100x's over so money has no more value at this point since it's so easy to acquire very quickly and with little challenge, this game is EASY. So the up's, this would be a great game for kids who enjoy city building or sim games but maybe aren't really ready for more challenging or technically advanced games. This feels like a "baby's first city builder". Thee is literally no way to go broke, achievements are easy but fulfilling, the neighbor view seems cute but feels meh to me and doesn't add much but is probably a nice addition for young kids. These neighbors offer bonuses but because money is so easy to earn I paid literally no attention to the traits offered by each building or person, I didn't need to... since it did nothing to move the game ahead or prevent financial ruin. It felt like a nice thought but pretty pointless to the actual game-play and out of balance with the systems in game. Overall it's a genuinely fun, though simple, game. Some other issues, the road building mechanics feel clunky and overly complex, like it would be much simpler to just create a reactive road you can drag and drop without having to select unique tile shapes. while I know they added the drag drop "tile" that still feels like an after thought that only makes it slightly less annoying to place roads. Also the snap grid based on hitting 2, 3, or 4 just feels unnecessary and again clunky, it seems like it would have been a bigger win to just leave that out or lock each item to a specific grid format and invest the time in more content. Like I can shift a tree slightly but i still can't put two trees overlapping or close together so whats the point of moving the grid by a micrometer. With regard to content one of the goals you need to achieve is 50 monuments... except there are a total of maybe 10 monuments in game and they are all super SPECIFIC to a certain building or zone (bowling pin for the bowling alley etc). This means to hit this goal you literally need to build a SEA of monuments somewhere. I had the same issue with perks, I know they add something but it also feels unnecessary and pointless since again you don't need perks to advance in the game, it's already so easy to earn money that the perks feel empty, there is no value to a 10% discount on construction when you have Million upon millions of dollars by doing absolutely nothing. I barely even looked at them. This also illustrates another big issue here, don't get ahead of the tutorial or quest logs. For example you hit a new level and see a fun new building to plop down, let's say a library. You put a library down and then click the next quest and it says "add a library" but it does not recognize you have already added a library. So you either spend the money to buy a second library or you sell your current library and then place it again (which means you only pay 25% more than you originally paid for the library rather than buying a second library at full price.... not that it matters since you earn money so fast you could buy 10 libraries). It's also inconsistent since other quests recognize things you've already done like how many residences you've built. So because there just isn't a ton of content yet you are spamming certain buildings everywhere. But ultimately this game is $1.99 and for $1.99 this one is a cute and fun time killer and worth it for a couple days of easy relaxing play. So buy it but keep your expectations at that $1.99 game level or buy it for a child.... Children will love it.
Funy and relaxed game! https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=1lCyGCqfwEU
fun
For $2 this was a great little city builder that helped me pass a few hours very nicely. The colors are pleasing, there's nothing intense, I didn't run into any bugs. Is it complex? No, but not everything has to be. I finished almost all achievements in 3.4 hours but would have had to wait around for quite a while for the last two (train coming into the stop).
pretty game with easy achievements
love it
