Looks like iam the first one to review this game. ok, iam a massive arcade retro fan of these games and grew up right through the golden age of arcade gaming. So what we have here is the platform for a potential awsome game, and yes i said potential. You see i have some issues with it being very hard to survive, and i only managed to make it to stage 2,yes only stage 2. And i dont rate myself being bad at these games, but this is a very hard game. I worked out you can shoot the enemie bullits to stop them hitting your shield, but the smaller space invader enemies fire at such a fast rate and lots of bullits, well its nearly inpossible to shoot them to stop them hitting your shield and they are smaller bullits to. Not sure if iam missing something here on how to survive, but would be great if the developer could give some feedback on getting further into the game. Also noticed when you die thats it, and with no saves as you clear a level to continue on next time or when you are carrying on playing on a long session, well really does punish you. I also found that your main weapon sound is a bit weedy, as in the sound it makes. It would of been nice to of been firing something with a bit of power to it in the sound department. Although i sound like iam putting the game right down, well theres a really good game here to build on with updates. But i do also feel this is the finished product as its not a early game state. But as i said if the developer can come back with some feedback then that would be nice. so do i think this game is worth buying, well thats a tough one to be honest, as the music and the actual game idea is great and nice to see not the normal run of the mill games on steam. But at the moment i must give it a thumbs down for now.
If you love retro gaming or grew up with games like Space Invaders, Galaxa, Centipede, Tempest and the many many others, then you will LOVE this game! If you're a casual gamer, you will LOVE this game! The gameplay is engaging, even when it gets a bit repetitive. I am not a huge gamer at all, and I find myself going back to this game often. The music is calming yet exciting, and, while not chip tune or 8-bit, fits the game's retro atmosphere well with its synthwave/retrowave sound. The graphics are a fantastic modern send-up to the classic pixelated game graphics of the 70s and 80s arcade games. General Goo, while definitely a villain, actually makes some valid points about our modern society. The gameplay is frenetic, but not too much or overwhelming, even for me, who is on the autism spectrum. Definitely play this gem of a game! This is one game that I want to actually beat, and keep playing. If classic arcades were still around like they used to be, this would be well worth your quarters!
Old School shooter, Got to Level 4 whoohoo! Addictive gameplay makes you play game after game, mouse hand was killing after a while so recommend the space bar. I love the visuals and the music is something else. If you remember the Jeff Minter games then this is for you. Get it!...and yes its hard....but so was hunchback on the spectrum :)
I had a lot of fun with this. I streamed it for two hours-before I needed a break. the music is great, the graphics and visual effects are really nice and the controls are easy to get used to, Really enjoyed this. Thank you.
Plug-and-Play with Sinden Light Gun. A good throwback to classic arcades that works well with Sinden's, well, Sinden. I could only get 1-P to fire. I do recommend the game, 3.6/5.0 overall, but I'd wait for a sale (not a diss, but a $4.99 price-point).
Didn't have hopes for this game but thought I'd try it out on sale to help grow my sinden light gun collection. For gun use, I had to tab in and out of the window for the sinden border to appear (or you can use reshade) so not much setup compared to some other light gun games. This game has nice graphics and sound, although the main laser sound is weak and does not provide a solid impact feeling with the sound effect used on both laser and enemy impacts. Try as I might, I can't get past level 3 as the game just overwhelms with bullets on the screen. There maybe a way to time things between power ups and bombs and continues (I think you earn one for beating a level) to get a bit further but I could not figure it out before my trigger finger tired out trying to keep up with all the bullets. Even on sale for 3.50$ this game wasn't worth it for me, if it was less than 2$ I might have kept it. The laser just doesn't feel like it's doing much damage and feels like it misses a lot of objects even with concentrated rapid fire. The levels (from what I played) just repeat with an increasing number of large ship types at different points in the levels. Gun games are supposed to be a quick, visceral thrill and this is anything but. The effort to make any sort of head way in this game is just too much of a tiring chore to be any fun.
Played with a Blamcon light gun: 7/10 This game works very smoothly with a light gun. Very smooth gameplay and just some wildly imaginative visuals. Beautiful game.
