Plox Neon * 8/10
Qix? Better, way better and more challenging, of course. Colored and bright, with cool effects but at the same time that 80s retro look with an awesome 80s soundtrack.
INTRO & GAMEPLAY. What is Plox Neon about and how does it work?
Plox Neon is based on classic Qix (or the more recent kbounce for linux users), there's a square field, you move your ball and leave a trail that forms a wall, once you close a portion of field you phisically remove it. Purpose is to remove an amount of field (indicated on top of minimal hud). Sounds ridiculously easy. But while qix had a shapeshifting line bouncing around the field and kbounc hace balls now you have cells and variables. Starts easy but gets more difficult as they grow esponentially in numbers, there are variables that split, or run and bounce around very fast and that gives the player a lot of challenge.
GRAPHIC. Engine And Artistic aspects.
Graphic is simple but clean and very striking because of its strong colors, simple but good looking effects for your trail and removed fields, not to mention the 80s style menus.
SOUNDTRACK. Themes and Accompaniments.
80s retro new wave. Nuff said. I love the 80s and I love music from those years, hence I just love the electronic 80s retro music that pumps out loud through the different maps. Developer should definitely put out a soundtrack pack in the steam store for people like me since this is one of the most endearing aspects of the game (and if they don't hold the rights for that manouvre they should definitely negotiate)
LAST NOTES. What doesn't work?
Simple, entertaining, challenging as it gets more difficult resembling a bullet hell game but the scheme is always the same and maybe the retro style (especially music) may not be appealing to those who not love the 80s like I do. I can't see it as a bad aspect, but if you don't enjoy the atmosphere and the music you will hardly enjoy the game (unless you mute music and launch a Youtube playlist or your own vlc playlist XD). About gameplay, maybe the small ball you control is a bit too sensible when colliding on other enemies... Because even getting close to them gives death.
TL;DR. Pros And Cons

+++PROs+++

CHALLENGING. It's fun, and gets more and more difficult. It can entertain with almost 100 maps and different kinds and combinations of enemies.
80s' CHARM. The game's style and most importantly the music are another strong point for the game. Love the 80s? Get the game and have fun!

---CONs---

80s' CHARM. The game relies most of its charm on the 80s' style. Though if you don't enjoy its music, nobody forbids you from turning it off and play your own on vlc or youtube. Plox Neon is like you asked yourself "What would Jezzball look like in 2017?" This is the answer. It doesn't play exactly like Jezzball but it feels so good to play and just hits me like Jezzball does. For $5 it's a killer deal, I love the mechanic of Jezzball and Plox Neon delivers on every front. https://youtu.be/CRPIRexMQso
Very fun and addicting retro action game that reminds me a lot of a game called "Qix" from the Commodore 64. I show some gameplay and give my first impressions score in this video: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=no8ueJlL5Co 8.5 out of 10. Definitely Recommended!
Full disclosure, I am a friend of the developer and received my copy for free. Plox is a nicely polished take on classic arcade gaming. The 10yr old me imagined arcade games of the future like this, but with more jet packs. I like that they threw some twists into the different ways you can die (of which there are many) which make it more challenging to pull off an epic win, but so much more rewarding. The concept is simple "Remove enemies and parts of the play field by drawing shapes" but the devil is in the details. Some enemies bounce predictably while others fly like birds and are prone to random direction changes. Your avatar leaves a trail that takes time to dissipate, get hit in the trail and you have a split second to move out of the way or you die as the killing energy shoots back towards you like the fuse on a bomb. Levels progress from the simple which requires no instructions to solve, to the devious controller destroying levels that made me cuss like a sailor. Bottom line, It's a challenging arcade game and worth the price.
El juego esta bastante bien, me parce una gran alternativa de juego casual, kizas los logros lo vea demasiado dificiles pero en fin le doy un 6.
Full Disclosure Desert Owl owns Pox Nora therefore I auto purchased this game with the intent to give them 10/10 review and possibly encourage another sale or two. Happy to say (and suprised) that I like the game enough to say it's worthy of purchase all by it's self. It's a nice little puzzle/coffee break game. It's in fact a more colorful and far more enjoyable version of "Snake" which isn't all that exciting in and of itself. However there's something to be said for keeping it simple and sticking with what works. It's bright, challenging, and the core premise taken right from the of the original Snake's core and only mechanic is still enjoyable. It's not groundbreaking but again Pox Nora so.........10/10!!!!! MUST BUY
It's a Qix clone, it has good music, a variety of enemies, challenging levels, it's neon and responsive. What else do you want? From a Qix clone I mean... Full prize ok. Sale YEAH! Follow my curator at https://store.steampowered.com/curator/28337205-Fair-Minded-Witness/
A flawed but visually pleasing Qix'er. A number of ingredients from the original Qix are not found here. You could call it a "watered-down" Qix. It is pretty to look at. Nice particle block effects. It is enjoyable to play, but it will make the Qix purists long for the missing features of the original. There are no fast and slow draw buttons for that risk v. reward approach. There are no buttons at all; just move the stick to draw. And don't worry about taking your time, nothing will trace your draw line to zap you. There seems to be an inconsistency in determining when a territory becomes completed. Sometimes a completed area gets claimed (converted to particle bocks), other times nothing happens. It's Qix, but watered-down. Pros: + Pleasant visuals, esp. if you like bubbles and glowey retro visuals. + Fun enough to play + Inexpensive Cons: - Inconsistent territory claiming - If you enjoyed the original Qix, you will wish a number of it's features were in this game to add depth to the gameplay
