About
Assault and defend positions. Exploit cover and terrain. Call in artillery strikes and use special units. Storm trenches, conquer villages and urban neighborhoods . Command your troops from a classic Real-Time Tactics perspective, or take direct control of any soldier or vehicle on the battlefield.
Control multiple squads, tanks and infantry fighting vehicles to accomplish mission objectives. Order them to take cover, maneuver with your force in order to get a better position over the enemy.
When commanding the battlefield as a commander is not enough, you can turn the tide of an engagement by entering direct control of any allied soldier or vehicle.
Using the abilities of the Lieutenant, Platoon Sargent, Medic and Engineer are vital to your platoon's survival and victory on the battlefield.
Infantry and vehicles should support each other, each is vulnerable without the other.
Take part in the battle from another perspective.
Taking direct control of a tank or infantry fighting vehicle to quickly destroy enemy armor with precision or halt an infantry charge with superior firepower is a reliable way to dominate the battlefield.
Sadly, some elements of jank are present. They are not game breaking. They are not very frequent and most gameplay is smooth, but when they occur some players could find them annoying. To accommodate this, "Platoon" will be sold at a cheaper price than originally planned. And overall gameplay and level design is redirected to provide as smooth player experience as possible. Most, if not all levels will take under 15 minutes to accomplish.

This is a simplified, more casual wargame. This is not a hardcore & realistic milsim. You will not deal with ammo, inventory management, building fortifications, resupplying your troops, reviving wounded soldiers. I want you to focus on the strategy, tactics and action.
The game has between 2-3 hours of content. It features 7 missions.

It's clearly visible that this is the developer's very first project. So roughness and janky gameplay are to be expected. You have around 2 hours worth of content. For the content provided (assuming you buy this at sale for 4.99) I justify the price and I believe it's a fair deal. (I can hardly justify full price for this game) If you played games like Call to Arms, Men of War, Syrian Warfare then you will feel at home. Now a word or two about the gameplay itself: The mission and level design is far simpler and easier than the games I mentioned. This is very good in my opinion, because sometimes I really want a more casual gameplay. All in all, Platoon is a casual and simplfield real time tactics games. It's also worth pointing out that the game drops on sales for 50%, so I believe 4.99$ is a good bargain for this game. I would recommend waiting for a sale.
good work on your first game and also the story was good to, i had a few issue I had notice was the control would lock up at time when you try to order unit around, also when ever you are calling the support artillery in it will deselect the unit so you have to reselect it over and over again to were it does get annoying, also some time in the fire controle mission the enemy will not spawn to were you must restart the mission to fix it and also when ever you take conrtol of your unit cannot shoot sometimes the tanks i think is a bit to OP when you are taking control of it with a bit to big of a blast area i could clear area easily from a far with out the ai shooting back to were mission get to easy when you get a tank
Sirjellybean sent me here and as others have said this is the users first game but I see a diamond in the rough if the dev continues learning and getting better in a few iterations this could really be something great keep it up
this could be okay, if the dev fixes some terrible issues - mainly that in the first person veiw, there are no controls that actually allow your character to turn around and change direction - its just stuck looking in one direction and this direction might not even be facing where the enemies are. also you cant move the crosshairs at all to aim at anything, so all you can hope is that the target is on the ground and is level with where you crosshair is stuck at If these issues could be fixed then there is enough of a game here to be worth the price
never really played a game like this before, but it was surprisingly easy to get into. after a short time, I was already playing smoothly and more tactically positioning and using units. I like how you can both command units from above and directly control a soldier or a vehicle. The only similar games I can think of are the old facebook games like social wars or social empires that I used to play, but with a more tactical battlefield style. overall it's fun and worth buying.
