Admittedly, I barely made it through the game — about 10 minutes on another account and around 15 minutes on this one — and that was more than enough. The introduction bombards you with text, and not in a good way. The dialogue tries so hard to sound deep and descriptive that it ends up feeling pretentious, and the amount of typos on a single opening page is honestly shocking. It’s not a great sign when the first thing you see is a wall of overwritten text riddled with errors. To make matters worse, every word bounces into place with an unskippable animation, dragging out scenes that already feel bloated. Sometimes the game even splits a sentence into two separate text boxes just to place a single word on its own page. It’s clunky, slow, and frustrating. When it comes to gameplay, the tutorial gives you zero explanation of how combat works. Maybe the intention was for players to learn naturally during the first mission — but you’re thrown straight into a fight with a wolf immediately, with no guidance whatsoever. It feels careless rather than clever. The graphics are identical to the developer’s other game, which is being sold for £15. Many reviews for that title mention that it was Kickstarter‑funded yet feels half‑started and half‑finished. I expected this new release to be a more refined version of that earlier project — especially since it already has paid DLC despite releasing only two days ago.

The battle system is the star here, ability timing, and party synergy all matter. I’ve had runs where one smart use of a perk turned a losing situation into a comeback, and that’s a feeling I don’t get in many roguelites.
The procedural generation ensures no two runs feel the same. Shrines, perks, and randomized encounters make experimentation worthwhile.
The art direction leans into a twisted fairytale l that’s both eerie and beautiful. From plague‑ravaged towns to grotesque enemies and massive bosses, the world pulls you in
I really loved the dark atmosphere and the unique art style of this game the turn based mechanics are deep and kept me hooked for hours while managing my squad in such a grim world definitely recommend giving it a shot if you like challenging roguelites
Plague Hunters offers a ton of content. Between recruiting survivors, leveling up Hunters, and managing perks, I was constantly tweaking my strategy to handle new threats.
The early game feels simple, but once shrines and tougher enemies appear, the strategy really kicks in.
Shrines are brilliant in this game. Choosing powerful boons can turn the tide, but every benefit comes with a potential curse that punishes careless decisions.
This isn’t a game where you win just because you’ve unlocked enough upgrades. Understanding mechanics, patterns, and synergy between characters matters a lot.
