Fun little game. The recent updates have really improved the game overall with new abilities and temporary buffs that can really save you in a pinch. Well worth the price.
As advertised, mildly positive, but it gets pretty repetitive. Enemies are all about the same, just with different stats, some slightly faster or slower, some with different shots, but they all move and shoot in exactly the same way. Final boss is much different, but not all that fun for me.
It's a simple, addictive action roguelike at best. It's not everyone's taste, and I'm still getting the hang of it. It's difficult, and usually I hate difficult games. The last difficult game I played to death was Atomicrops (90 hours on another account and still in year 3!). The dev still happily updates the game, even after leaving early access, which is very rare. Hopefully, after 95 minutes of playing, I can pass level 2.
awesome
SO...I loved Gauntlet in the arcades. I have been trying to find a good modern rendition of the game. Sadly all the official Gauntlet releases have been rather disappointing. Then I found Pixel Descent. Weird way to put it maybe but this game scratches all the itches I had for Gauntlet...and even showed me a few itchy spots I didn't even know about. ;P Point is...VERY good game in the Gauntlet style of play...but modern and good.
For a gamer that sucks at games this might not be the game for you. The game gets harder the longer you play. X amount of hours in and upgrades LVI etc is way harder than when first start off. I was looking for a rogue like game and this fits the bill but I wish I knew they game just got harder no matter what I did.
If you ever played Gauntlet and wished it had more to offer, This is the game.
If you liked Gauntlet game this will give you the nostalgia vibes
Fun game good progression
Fantastic rogue-lite in the vein of Gauntlet.
