You have to pay to higher than Lvl 5, so technically its not free, I was having fun until i couldnt go any further, so I deleted it

You will be prompted to and expected to give money/credit card details to the developers through this cash shop to buy in-game goods so you can play the game.[/quote] "Pirate101" is the corpse of an old subscription based 2012 World of Warcraft ripoff, but with all the fun stuff removed and replaced with pirates and furries. The game was bought up by a garbage collector and republished on Steam with toxic monetization added to every aspect of the game. What do you do in the game? Well, not much, but it used to be a pretty poorly done low quality pirate themed WoW clone... there's always a sea of "me too" publications for every blockbuster game. Many developers think the peak of creativity is to see something successful, make an inferior clone, and wait for the money to roll in. That truly is the story of "Pirate101". Visually, this has some fairly mediocre/dated looking graphics that will understandably be a turn off for a lot of gamers, and it's a big contributor to the failure of the game to attract gamers despite having no up-front cost. Now on to pricing and value for gamers. This game is infested with mobile app store like microtransactions. This is a consumer hostile model that we don't need to see on PC. It's deceptively priced to gouge gamers, and that's a reason in itself to avoid this. All other issues aside (any of which would disqualify this from being worth your time), this is a game that relies on other players for it to be viable, and because there's not enough players, it's not viable. I can't recommend anyone downloads this, it's basically dead. Finally, I write these reviews to try help people navigate the thousands of games on Steam so they don't waste time on low quality products. There's over 140,000 games on Steam... Steam Direct is allowing an influx of around 40-50 new games [i]every day![/i]. If you think I'm wrong about this one, go ahead and add it to your library, download it, install it, play it and see for yourself. Maybe you'll come to agree with me after wasting your time. Either way, consider writing your own reviews too. I'm just glad if my review helps give gamers enough info to make a better informed choice.
