I've beaten this game at least three times. I grew up playing Kirby's Pinball Land and Super Mario Pinball Land, and this feels right at home. Something about making pinball a journey, with unique abilities to traverse ever higher, through all of the spire's challenges, works fantastically. The only problem is it's too short!
Very fun arcade game with progression. Recommended.
Great casual game even for people who don't care for pinball, however it is lacking in length. I 100% the game in about 8 hours (2 playthroughs, all achievements, cosmetics, and 2205 gems). I got it in a Humble Bundle and it's a great little game.
Dura dos horas haciéndolo bien rico.
Short but sweet and left me wanting more! The only negative i noticed is that one of the starting tracks repeats in an awkward spot.
Calling this a -vania game is really stretching the definitions of what you'd find in the genre. You "do" get abilities and you "do" get more traversal, but there's not really much exploration at play here; the game is largely linear, with some of the areas requiring you to take a detour, before returning to the main table to remover the blocker that prevented you from progressing. Game is fine by most marks and measures and otherwise does what it looks like it ought to do. I wish there was secret areas or other things tied to harder shots/sequences. I think I'd end on the side of not recommending this game though. Nothing is particularly offensive, but I found the whole experience was meh.
Fantastic little game. Excellent soundtrack, solid pinball physics plus abilities and exploration to make it fresh, cute little cosmetics and effect trails for your pinball hidden throughout the boards, overall a great time for pinball enjoyers. If I had one single complaint it was that the game strips you of your equipped cosmetics in the final credits. I beat the game in 3 hours, and that was with me trying to unlock everything and get all the gems I could so it could arguably be done much faster. Well worth the money spent.
i have mixed thoughts on this but overall positive. it implements pinball pretty well, but calling it a metroidvania to any degree is a stretch. it's extremely linear with only a few side rooms and most of the things can be obtained on a first run through a room, and there's no real sense of exploration. you're mostly just going up through self-contained puzzle rooms, but it's fine because the rooms themselves are well put together and pretty creative sometimes. the physics are alright. they work for implementing the concept of a pinball action-adventure, but i don't feel they're well-implemented enough to play it through again for the "don't use the time slow power" achievement. the ball is much lighter than a real pinball and that's felt both through the way it can't ski between flippers and the way shots require a ton of precision that the momentum of a real pinball would have carried through.
final boss was underwhelming since there were no real stakes.
i'd like to see a sequel. i think a lot of things could be handled better with finer physics tuning and while it feels like a complete game i do find myself wanting more to explore with it. well worth playing especially since it's nice and compact.
