Pih 2

Honest review. I was genuinely impressed by the original Pih. I bought it and Pih 2 on sale ironically, so I can laugh about it with my friends, but I didn't think I'd how much fun I would actually end up having with it despite the simple gameplay loop and shoddy quality. It just kept impressing me, especially in the later levels. It was a fun, simple experience, with varied levels, new gameplay features and requirements introduced overtime. Most deaths felt deserved and counterable, were I to just play better, pay more attention or strategically use the time abilities to get the upper hand on some pihs hiding around a corner. Overall, a solid 8/10 for what it is. Pih 2, despite its visual fidelity, brand new first person animations, three different types of weapons and pih varieties, fails to deliver on almost all of that. For one, most deaths now feel unavoidable, especially from several types of flying and water enemies. You don't have the luxury of time-manipulation anymore, so sneaking up on some hidden pihs is no longer an option. The game introduces a fair share of new pih varieties, but most of them fail to bring anything new to the table, and a good bunch of them feel like reskins of each other. The game tries to introduce occasional vehicle levels where you must pilot a hot-air balloon or a boat, but they just end up feeling like a total slog, and overall a frustrating experience. Pih 1, in comparison, had a few car levels that served as a break from the usual gameplay loop, and a brief delving into something different. Also, the new announcer is pretty damn annoying. I've heard some people say that one could just mute him in the settings, but sometimes (especially in this game) it's nice to know what snuck up on you. It'd be great to have an option to switch back to the original one, but alas, as of writing this there doesn't appear to be any developer feedback. I played all of Pih 1 in maybe 4 days total, on and off in sessions of 1-2 hours, and I thoroughly enjoyed most of it. I tried to give Pih 2 time to impress me, but so far I've been left completely disappointed. Maybe I'll get back to it another time, when I feel like dealing with what it has to offer again, but for now I'm leaving it as is, and hoping to see an update or two. It really feels like Pih 1 was made for the sake of making a silly game with no intention of it going viral, but Pih 2 feels like a hype-driven cashgrab for people who don't care about passion or quality in indie projects as long as they're meme material. And it's a shame that those people appear to be a majority, meaning this game will not get the criticism it deserves (hopefully from critics better than myself) because it's Le Funny Pih Game Sequel. I hope reviews like mine aren't in vain, and the dev does better in their future projects.

I was searching for a game that could cure my depression. Like how God saved the Israelites out of Egypt, like game found me and freed me from my depression. Not only my depression, however, it gave me cancer, then cured that cancer. 100/10 greatest game money can buy.

wow. I thought the first pih was as good as it gets, but this game has blown my mind. This is utterly incredible. I feel like my perspective on life has changed for the better, and I'll never be the same again after playing it. Great job guys, I wish I could buy it for triple the price because it is worth way more than it's current price

"Oh boy a new Pih game! I sure hope the new enemies will be fun!" I was soon to realize the horrors of the birdhawg.
