About
Something has taken all of the color and it's up to Huey to investigate! Make your way through ONE level and ONE boss to bring color back to the world.
Pigment is a platformer with a big focus on air mobility. Moving through the world will add color to the hand-drawn backgrounds and environment. Over the course of your adventure you'll obtain the ability to jump and dash multiple times in the air and also refresh your aerial mobility options to stay airborne as long as you like.
Use of a controller is highly recommended.
Short game about brush strokes and jumping. Make the world beautiful again by painting.
I want to start off by saying that I really wish that this was a positive review. I love the basic premise of the game, the art is adorable, and the game plays very well. Mostly. This is where my issue lies with this game: the controls. Not really even the controls, but the fact that the application of the few abilities that you have is just WAY too difficult at times. I do not remember ordering a side of rage platformer with my cute and cozy game. I didn't even finish the game, I was simply getting too worked up trying to do the same spot over and over again. I highly doubt that I will ever come back to try to finish it. For the record, I consider myself to be pretty good at platformers in general. Call it skill issue, I'll call it unreasonable difficulty. If you're looking for a cute and relaxing time, stay away from this game unless you're VERY good at precision platformers. It IS a very good game otherwise, but it was much too difficult for my tastes.

I wanted to like this game. There is so much potential here. The art is beautiful, and the theme of adding color back to a colorless world is amazing. But... the controls are atrocious. The jumping mechanic that requires you to hit down and jump at the same time to jump off of lanterns and such--a mechanic that is required for progression in this parkour style side scroller--is infuriating. It works about 25% of the time. You will die, die again, needlessly repeat areas you already got past, and ultimately through your computer through a f*ing wall!
Short and adorable little platformer! (And it's free!) I wouldn't be opposed to a larger adventure starring Huey~ That moveset is nice, and the concept is interesting! (Also ow, my wrist, I can see why they recommend a controller, but sadly mine doesn't work with this game)
Very fun game with lots of promise! Cannot wait to see how it evolves over time! It already feels very nice to play and rather fine tuned. I would love to see more brushes/weapons to choose from, as well as an expanded move library when it comes to attacking. The platforming though feels extremely well made and challenging without being rage-inducing. I felt as though that most of the time when mistakes happened it was because of me and not the game, so very well done with that! My only gripes with the game are that I wish there was a bit more soundtrack diversity as well as different landscapes, it felt very similar all the way throughout. Also hitting that paint bucket around was so amazing I took each of them with me as far as possible.
Beautiful art style, frustratingly difficult!! Really worth playing for the beautiful art style alone!
Very enjoyable little freebie platformer. I went OCD at first and tried to color everything by myself, but if you play into it you'll realize there are other ways of coloring things in. I'd like to see it expanded and would definitely pay to play a more realized version. Works great on Steam Deck.
Simple, cute little game with some surprisingly hard platforming sections and a very surprisingly hard boss fight. It's a pretty short experience that doesn't overstay its welcome.
Simple and fun, I like how it colors the world as you progress. Would recommend!
