feels fantastic, looks fantastic, sounds fantastic, developed by a real one, recommended wholeheartedly already worth the money and it's only getting better as it gets slightly more unhinged thank you Crisp and Tito
Good game! Looking forward to more maps.

(dw i pireted ts before i played on steam a while ago) why dis game has such good reviews... this game is basic ashel, has that VHS,PSX artstyle that certainly has to be a bit more polished, cakewalk ahh levels/progression, strange and extremely robotic and lazy animations that try to pass themselves as "retrostyle" and strangely enough, bad... and i mean BAD writing, something that seems easy in a manhunt-esque typa game, other than the main character shows that the creator fr just wrote the mc as a man and last min changed his ass to a woman, WOMEN IN GENERAL DO NOT ACT AS THE MAIN CHARACTER AT ALL to a point it feels too cartoony even. try to pass as something more than it is and tbh it insists on itself a bit too much, bad effort review for a bad normie directionless game... im gon sleep now... 😴
Pigface is a game that I wish I could give a sideways thumb to. Every time I pick it up I usually play for an hour or maybe a little more and then typically don't come back until there's a new update. With the crafting update dropping and the remixed levels getting added in I think I finally get why Pigface doesn't hook me like some of it's contemporaries. The game feels very influenced by Cruelty Squad, mission based levels where you choose a loadout, go in solo, usually need to kill or more individuals, then extract. Both games are very speedrunner friendly as well. Sadly the actual moment to moment gameplay between the two is vastly different. Trying to effectively use a guns blazing approach in Cruelty Squad will typically quickly humble you ESPECIALLY on the Hope Eradicated difficulty. This means you have to experiment with things other than just trying to brute force your way through the enemies. Pigface... doesn't really have any of that. The game gives you three different item slots, melee, firearm, and deployable. This feels incredibly limiting though, because using your gun 9/10 times is the best option for every scenario. Yeah you could try to pull out your melee every time you see an enemy without a gun to try and conserve ammo, but enemy mobs ALWAYS have a mixture of dudes with melee weapons AND dudes with guns, so any time you pull out your melee you have a VERY high chance of some guy shooting you because you were too busy trying and failing to throw a shovel at a crackhead. Trying to bait the AI into the deployables just doesn't seem worth it either. I tried using the beartrap on several occasions and I think the only time I got it to go off it was with a guy who was already running towards me. Pretty much every other time I just ended up running into them myself because their hitbox seems stupidly wide. The different masks are also pretty meh, the changes they make are negligible at best at least imo. With all that being said I still think the game is pretty fun, the gore is insanely over the top and silly, the music and a lot of the sound design slaps, the bits of voice acting are all really good, and man do few games really capture than grimy intercity feel better than this game does. Unless the game makes some significant changes after 1.0 my opinion on the game will probably not be change enough to justify updating this review. 6/10 Pick it up on sale, support indie devs!

Super smooth movement and gunplay, kinda like how Counter Strike is smooth. Deep vibes and a mysterious simple story. Cant wait to see more!
Short but fairly enjoyable, I'm more in love with the format than the content that's currently on offer. I could see myself revisiting this every few months to play a few levels and see what is added or changed without many complaints. It's like a bite-sized immersive sim, though I found that the enemy AI and lack of meaningful stealth mechanics left me a bit wanting. I kind of had the impression, since this game is very clearly inspired by Manhunt, that I'd be able to more effectively sneak my way through levels, but enemies seem to have no in-depth detection mechanics and the game clearly emphasizes guns blazing over taking your time and piecing your way through the environment slowly. While you can maybe sneak your way through some of the smaller levels, like the farm, you're not making it through the prison or uptown without gunning down dozens of mooks. On that same token, gunplay is simple but fun. Melee, however, is in need of a heavy rework. I was disappointed to find that almost every melee weapon felt weightless and floaty. There's a lot of visceral options on display here but light weapons feel like I'm lightly bonking enemies rather than smashing or chopping them up and heavy weapons like the sledgehammer are really buggy. I'd be right up in a crackhead's face swinging the sledgehammer and sometimes it'd just... pass right through. I know drugs can make you do a lot of things, but phase through a sledgehammer being swung at ♥♥♥♥♥♥♥♥♥♥♥♥♥♥? Doubtful. The system could use a full re-animation rework, maybe add sneaking executions or something. I also felt like money very swiftly became useless, which is a shame, because "Do mission, get paid" is a gameplay formula I really liked. I never had to buy a weapon, and costs were way too low for attachments. Costumes seem locked permanently right now so there isn't even vanity options to dump excess cash on (not that there's much to look at anyway). I'm sure this will be tweaked a bit in later updates, but this is also an issue with the crafting system. There's a few items you'll routinely craft that encourages scavenging, morphine, cigarettes, etc; but most of the utility tools are largely useless (landmines and bear traps) outside of a few select situations and way too cheap to craft. There's basically no reason to bother picking up half the crafting materials once you have the permanent upgrades unlocked. Aesthetically the grimy nature of the game is neat and the Manhunt slasher aesthetic makes the game stand out. Gibs and enemy gore makes shooting and smashing satisfying. Kicking guys into spikey walls has been a favorite gamer passtime of mine since Might and Magic so I get a chuckle whenever it shows up in another game. Tentatively think 6 hours or so of fun for 12 bucks is a good deal for the game as it is right now.
