Pieces of Beauty is a jigsaw puzzle game that includes seven puzzles to complete with three puzzle sizes for each puzzle. The game itself is fairly stable, but a multitude of bugs have emerged over playing the game that has left me pretty much wanting to wash my hands of this game. Pieces that get stuck on the edge of the screen, pieces that cannot be clicked on because they are in close proximity to the help button in the middle of the left side of the screen, and more have caused me to uninstall this game after giving it one last shot to get all of the achievements in this game. Here's the pros and cons: Pros: +Images are pretty nice to look at. Cons -When you start a 285 piece puzzle, some of the pieces cover the area where you are supposed to put the jigsaw puzzle together. -Instead of getting a picture to work off of that you can reference on a screen somewhere else, they literally overlay the entire image over the area where the jigsaw puzzle is put together, making for an extremely easy time putting the puzzle together. If you've played Pixel Puzzles Ultimate, it is the equivalent to the ghost hint. -The puzzle must be completed in a single session. There is no quitting midway and having the game save your progress. This is frustrating, especially when you encounter one of the two bugs listed below: -Sometimes, pieces get stuck underneath the help button, which cause you to literally have to exit the puzzle and restart it from the beginning. -Sometimes, pieces get stuck on the edge of the screen, and cannot be dislodged with the reshuffle piece key. This also causes you to have to exit the puzzle and restart from the beginning. -The UI for this game is extremely sloppy and clunky and have to deal with. Overall, this game is not worth the time spent playing at any price, and I do not recommend this game.
PLEASE NOTE: This review will be used for all 3 of the games in this franchise. Featuring beautiful traditional Japanese art by world-renowned Japanese artist Ohara Koson, if you love the traditional Japanese art style & jigsaws then this is for you! Number of puzzles per game: Pieces of Beauty - 7 Pieces of Beauty 2 - 13 Pieces of Beauty 3 - 14 I have a guide published for each of these 3 games that features a pic of each of the jigsaws in that game. These puzzles come in 3 different sizes (48, 117, 285) & completing every picture once in every size will give you an achievement per size completed of that pic. While the puzzles are beautiful, I do have a few complaints: - The music is nice but repetitive & the volume RESETS every time you log into the game which is rather annoying! - The game also does not save any progress you have made on any puzzle until you complete that puzzle. With the 2 smaller sizes being quick to finish this is not an issue BUT with the biggest one you definitely need to do them when you know you have the time to do it without being disturbed by other interruptions in one sitting. - Some of the pieces are on the puzzle requiring you to move them 1st & not all of the puzzle pieces show up on the screen, ending up outside / beyond your field of vision on the screen. Constantly reshuffling is not ideal when you really need to be able to see ALL of the pieces you have to work with. - The background themes can be distracting & you have 2 choices for the board (plain white or pieces outlines on white) BUT some of the pieces can be nigh on impossible to see once placed on this white background. A coloured transparent board or some other means to give a visual of where you have already placed pieces in negative space areas of the puzzle would be greatly appreciated by most players. Hopefully the devs will listen to what the players have issues with & fix them. The issues I have raised are not game breaking, just annoying! Overall though I highly recommend all 3 of these games. I bought them on sale in a bundle but even at full price they are still cheap & good value for money.

This is a puzzle game where you have about 7 different puzzles to build in 3 different sizes to unlock all the achievements. Takes approximately 6 hours to complete. Visually the game and the puzzles are really beautiful. I would have wanted a wider variety of puzzles to complete as to complete the same puzzle 3 times is not really fun. The music is also nice and relaxing, however it did become a bit repetitive. There are a few things that I would have changed, like: - You cannot save in the middle of a puzzle, so if you start a puzzle you need to finish it in one sitting; - Not all of the puzzle pieces show on the screen, as some of them shuffles outside of the screen, so if you are looking for a specific piece, you might need to shuffle a few times to find it. - It would have been nice to have a type of box where you can move specific pieces into, so if you shuffle, those pieces will not shuffle with the rest. - Some of the pieces are on the puzzle, so they might be in the way. I would have made the shuffle so that it is not on the puzzle itself. - There should be an option that you can toggle the background of the puzzle. Sometimes you do not want to see the background of the puzzle while building. Overall I would recommend this game for all the puzzle lovers out there. Also really easy achievements for the achievement hunters out there.
A relaxing and beautifully made puzzle game, the chosen music and images match very well. Not exactly bugs, but the only downsides I would say are not having the option to turn off the puzzle image neither preventing some loose pieces from being above the board during reshuffling. overall, I easily recommend the game.
For puzzle lovers and especially those who follow the work of Ohara Koson, it will be extremely interesting to have this piece in your game library. Enjoyable music, puzzle size variations, clean visuals and well-executed gameplay. improvement points: - Maybe an option for those who don't want to see the background image ready in the puzzle. - Bug fix in the sound, I don't know if it happens on my machine
Nice images for a relaxing puzzle, it turns out to be easy to assemble as it has the image as the base always on, particularly I would like to have an option to turn it off. good cost benefit to relax!
It's a very nice puzzle with Chinese art pieces, and however it keeps you for +10 hrs bussy I think this puzzle game deserves much more pieces of Art. One point of critic is that you can not save in the middle of a work, so when leaving the game you must completely begin from scratch. And, sorry one more point of critic is that the puzzle pieces shuffles anywhere. I wanted to see 2 boxes, on both sides of the drawing so the pieces are not in your way. But generally a good game to relax :) PS: Achievements doesn't count in your profile.
Nice puzzle game with beautiful traditional japanese art, I loved it!
