Hello Everyone, I just finished this game. I am glad I finished, If this was a Hard copy of a game I would of put it in a bucket of Gas, and set it a fire. This was one of the most Aggravating games I have ever played on VR. If I didn't pay so much for my vive, I would of smashed my Controllers into a wall a long time ago. Not only did I want to get to the next Head banging puzzle so badly, just to stop me from slamming my Headset into the walls, but I wanted to get to the end, to find out what kind of reward I would be greeted with since I went through all of this Madness. There was none, None end line story finish, no what is going to happen to me, NOTHING!!! it just ends...... I am searching for a highlight of my day into the night, back to the day Aggro blast, the only thing I can come up with is standing in front of the hall door listening to the couple Screwing. For hardcore Puzzle freaks, I can see you loving this game, It would be interesting, if that is what your into. I found the lack of some hint to be A little bit disturbing, But Disturbing has this game all over it. This review is not a complaint even though it might sound like it, it's a review and it is as such, I played the game, Finished it, had fun where I could, got pissed most of the time, but completed it. I wish I would not of spent 20 bucks for my high blood pressure, but I didget some kicks out of the deal. I recommend this game to any puzzle fans out there who don't mind hanging aorund for hours in a room, or maybe not. Some of the rooms I got pretty quick, not to quick, but fast enough to get to the next one. Some to me, just needed , not really a hold your hand, but more in the way of a hint, to at least let you know your on the right path. The game was very much thought out, and Mad props for that.
Gameplay: https://youtu.be/uBlWCaFPV1A Phantasma is horror story driven VR puzzle game. The gameplay involves making your way through a series of creepy environments by solving puzzles, in order to find the truth about a conspiracy surrounding a TV show hosted by a bunny named Flappy. The gameplay and environments are unique, and the puzzles are challenging and engaging. The game autosaves so you can take a break and return to the game at a later point. The horror aspect reflects the style of a psychological horror, placing you environments that are somewhat unsettling, but mainly this drives the story and keeps you intrigued as a player (as opposed to jump scares). The puzzles are independent of each other as are the environments, and the game is very engaging.
Punkte bisher 6/10
I finished this game feeling very angry with the game itself and the people who made it. As a first impression, you start the game in one of those standard videogame creepy hospitals. After a doctor talks for a while over a speaker and the creep factor slowly ramps up, she gives you a knife and tells you to stab yourself in the chest. But you don't have a chest, because it's a VR game. What you *actually* need to do is stab yourself in the *face*. And that's the simplest and most intuitive puzzle in the game. I had to look up solutions for more than one of the surreal challenges that followed. The in-game hint-system is generous to begin with, but sometimes it can be misleading and by the end of the game it will actually insult you. This was frustrating for me. The story is either that you've been through the plot of They Live, or that you're a serial killer who only *thinks* that's what happened. The game never really commits fully to either of those explanations. This, too, was frustrating. The horror is decidedly not subtle, Almost every environment is creepy and weird, and the story is punctuated with occasional jumpscares. The tension never winds down - only up. I've seen a lot of videogames make this mistake - if you don't give the player room to breathe occasionally and let some sense of security return to them, eventually they get innured to horror. Or, in the short term, they get frustrated. And the game ends on a very intrusive and unsatisfying note, with Flappy breaking the 4th wall, acknowledging that you're playing a VR game, and then threatening you. Then the game suddenly exits with no credits or anything. It's like the writer *wanted* to try to induce nightmares in the player. Go to hell, Flappy. My last act in this game was to drive my virtual fist through your intangible skull.
Its a functional game but does not fully work with oculus rift in its default configuration (asks you to turn around which is not supported out of the box with the rift) and it didn't intrest me past the initial room. I wish I could reccomend this because the idea behind it is solid if only the gameplay was a bit more interesting.
10/10 would scream like a girl due to spider again.. First off, although I recieved this game for free, This review is honest. Starting off in this game I had no idea what to expect, but a puzzle game within a deranged mind had me curious. Looking at the screenshots and trailer did not prepare me at all for what it would actually be like IN game. Visually this game is awesome, though good graphics are always a plus until you put the headset on and forget about reality. Then you slowly fall into madness trying to solve the puzzles in anger while becoming a good bunny. BE A GOOD BUNNY. I was warned that the puzzles would test me... but I won't lie, I didn't believe it. I was wrong... I think this game made me more mad than I had ever been when dealing with a puzzle game.. The puzzles themselves were very interesting and the method to solve most of them were honestly really impressive. you definitely had to think differently and outside the box to solve them. The worlds in which the puzzles take place are also very impressive and add to the games uniqueness. Overall, This game was really awesome and I REALLY enjoyed playing it. If I didn't already know the puzzles, I honestly would replay it, though I may just to revisit the scenes lol Awesome visuals, Awesome audio, Awesome Puzzles, Awesome drawings, and a bunny, what more could you want? If you enjoy unique puzzle games I would highly recommend it, but I warn you that raging is a high possiblilty. I don't normally do reviews but this game was too unique. -Playthrough- https://youtu.be/dLs8zFTtjvU
The puzzles dont make sense, there is a puzzle relating to paris which is impossible because there is no clues or direction or hints that will lead people to understand how to solve the puzzle. This game therefore cannot be finished.
Very enjoyable experience. Lasted about 4 hours total from start to finish, very good puzzles without being too easy, has a nice build up of the scary side.
Phantasma does an excellent job at capturing a very unique but creepy atmosphere. There are no jump scares per say but the foreboding feeling you get traversing though the puzzles laid out was very unique and worthwhile indeed. The dark narrative is reminiscent of other horror games I've tried but very stand alone in its own respect. The puzzles themselves are challenging while not impossible. There is also a hint feature now if you do happen to get stuck. The choice in locomotion is a huge plus catering to the players comfort level. I still have not finished the game but so far I'm around 3 hours in and very pleased with the experience. Highly recommended!
Got my brain a bit of a workout, hade to cheat one time (i suck at english) so i like to say its ok game. The story did not give me alot of exitement and it was a bit boring but the puzzles was nice. The ending wtf!? xD i like to give revenge.
