Absolute Masterpiece

It is very clear that the game is old, and a lot of things are poorly done and frustrating, but even than this game is amazing and I loved playing it a lot :) I hope they fix these things in the remake, if they do it will be the best Persona game for sure.

오리지널은 나온지 20년이 다 되어가는 게임임에도 불구하고 지금봐도 퀄리티가 좋음. 캐릭터 모델링은 옛스럽긴 하나 게임 시스템은 아직도 할만함. 다만 내년에 리바이벌이 나오기 때문에 지금 시점에선 굳이 안해도 될거같다

A must-play title I think this game aged incredibly well, visuals, gameplay, story, characters, voice acting, and music are all incredible. Nowdays it might be hard to recommend, since the remake is quickly on its way, and while that looks like it wants to be the definitive edition for the persona 4 franchise, I still see value in playing the original while waiting for the remake to arrive. Now, I'm a long term fan of persona, so there might be some bias in my assessment, mixed with nostalgia - After all, I originally played this game on the play station 3, and I day 1 bought it when it released on steam (and I just purchased the collectors edition of the remake). So suffice to say, I love this game. Persona is a fantastic series, and while persona 4 might be my least favorite title in the modern persona franchise, I still hold it on a very high regard, why is that? The storyline instantly grabs your attention, a murder-mystery in a small town where you just arrived to study on high-school, meet new friends, and investigate the supernatural incidents that even the police are unaware of... Interesting, right? Well, I think that isn't even the best part. While the story is more than good, what really brings this game together, and I'm sure any persona fan will agree with me - is the characters. The cast is fantastic, their designs compelling, their themes unique, and their growth, really well executed. You might be thinking, well, it all sounds great, but why shouldn't I wait for the remake? And my answer is... you can. Honestly, everything Atlus has showed from the remake looks fantastic, and the remake of persona 3 left me speechless by how good it was, so I am confident that this remake will be equally as good, if not even better. BUT - there is something very special about playing this original vision of the game, the entire english voice cast for example, will be new for the remake, and while it looks like they are keeping a high level of fidelity, and I'm sure the new actors will do a fantastic work, I feel the love and quality of the voice actors in this original game are more than enough reason for me to recommend you playing this game. I mean it, persona has some of the better voice acting jobs I've ever seen, and while I'm definitely no expert on that regard, I can still say that I enjoyed their voice work so much that I can still vividly remember many lines of voice-over from this game, they are funny, charismatic, menacing, ridiculous, everything the scenes demanded of them, and they really do make for a great experience. Another thing that will change is the music, and again, I'm sure the remake will do a fantastic work (and I wish the best for the new singer and composers on the new arrangements, and I'm also excited to hear their interpretation), but damn, the music on this game is phenomenal, there are very few talents in the world that can match Shoji Meguro at his best, and this game is Shoji Meguro at his best, that alone should be reason enough for you to give this game a try. So, if you are on the fence, give it a try, this game is a classic, with high level of polish, it might be old, but that doesn't take away from all the love and passion that went into creating this masterpiece.
