Dios pero que buen juego es de esas joyas que cuando la descubres quieres saber toda la historia, tiene buena musica,mecanicas,historia ufffff , además te encariñas con la mayoría de personajes y cuando ves la escena final te deja un vacío muy triste pero satisfactorio,en serio este juego vale la pena en muchos sentidos y ahora a ver el anime y jugar los demás juegos de esta maravillosa saga

I'm here after my review of P3R and it's DLC What an incredible experience , after playing and seeing how depression heavy was the first one , i wasn't exactly sure what to expect from it It sure has it's own sad moments but overall it's a lot more lighthearted. The graphics look pretty good seeing as this is an older game and the cinematics are beautiful The story starts great and ends even better , from the murder mystery to all the bonds you can form , every part of it was done extremely well and it sure is on par with 3 if not even better, It has twists and moments where you can't literally stop and want to know more , the middle to the end part would have been much better if I WOULD NOT HAVE BEEN SPOILED BY GOOGLE AI It has a different vibe , it's creepy and a bit unsettling I'm really a fan of how the game handles some of the darker sides of life and the S.links do a great job in bonding you with different characters The soundtrack continues to be amazing , every single dungeon has it's own song that reflects the feelings and how life feels for the person at the end of it Personally "theater" is one of the best songs in the game that has the most disturbing story "I'll face myself" is a great boss song and as the name implies shows growth and overcoming your worst parts The voice acting is so good , they continue to feel real and you can see that they put their hearts and souls into their characters also Yuri Lowenthal voicing Yosuke is a big W and he did an amazing job The gameplay is mostly the same as P3R with finding enemies weaknesses , critical hits and all-out attacks where everyone in your party joins you in a big hit . Me personally i'm hyped for the remake coming next year and i'm going to buy it and review that one as well After careful consideration i'd give this game a 9.5/10 (it's missing some newer QOL like baton pass but that comes in the remake) Next up : Persona 5 Royal

The vibes of the overworld and the TV world are phenomenal and contribute greatly to this being my favorite Persona game. Combat is well-balanced (for the most part), the social links are interesting enough (in that uniquely anime-cringe way), and the overall story is easily the best of any Persona title. There are some things that haven't aged well - perversion/coercion/Implied SA/pedophilia/fat phobia are all present and used as jokes in that uniquely gross mid-late-2000s kind of way with no self awareness or self reflection, including several scenes that are legitimately hard to get through. Nothing insane, but definitely things that will leave any well-adjusted person scratching their head and wondering how they made it into the final cut. There are also some odd gameplay decisions made, such as hiding the good/true ending behind a convoluted series of dialogue options, blocking story progress until you talk to a very specific (and usually completely random) person in town, one part which prevents forward progress until you talk to *every* single NPC in town twice, etc. Nothing game breaking, but things you probably wouldn't figure out without either looking it up or bashing your head against the wall for hours. Despite all that, the gameplay, story, and vibes of the world are strong enough that the game is still very enjoyable if you can make it through the more questionable content. If you're into the Persona games and you can handle some cringe, definitely pick this one up.

My favourite Persona in the series. I started the series when I decided to play the original Persona 5 on the PS3, mostly because I wanted to see what all the fuss about "best JRPG ever" actually was. I disagree with that sentiment, but that's for another review. Is Persona 4 Golden a masterpiece? Absolutely not. Apparently Persona 4 was the black sheep of the franchise because "it's not dark, it's too happy for being a Persona game" which is... what? What I will say though is that Persona 4 has easily the best main cast in the series, the Investigation Team actually goes well together, their interactions are really funny and everyone gets their proper spotlight. Some party members are better developed than others (Yukiko fell flat mostly while Kanji gets even better, for example), but I still enjoyed them as characters. The Investigation Team works because each character gets proper development before and after they're introduced so they don't feel out of place, something that Persona 5 completely forgets about. Most people seemingly hate Persona 4 also because it didn't age well with some of its jokes. Personally I strongly disagree, there are some cringe moments like the hot springs in typical Persona fashion, but Persona 4 does a great job of showcasing how teenagers used to act in the 2000s especially with Yosuke. Yosuke carried the party because he's level headed and caring, but he's also a horny teenager just like everyone at the time, he does stupid things like the motorcycle dating disaster and the beauty pageant, and he's prone to emotional outburts especially when his friends are in danger. At the end of the day (and the end of the game), Yosuke and Kanji are best friends who were just too ashamed of facing their true selves and admit their flaws. Speaking of, Kanji is by far one of the best characters in the series and it's not even close. [i] "Man, a watermelon!" [/i] I wish I could talk more, but I also need to address equally important characters who aren't in the main party. Let's start with Ryotaro and Nanako. This is one thing Persona 5 actually got right from Persona 4: a guardian who acts tough, but actually cares and wants to see you improve. However, while Sojiro Sakura is a bartender having trouble getting her foster daughter Futaba out of her house, Ryotaro Dojima is a police detective who has lost his wife due to a car accident and has been working very hard to catch the criminal. Unfortunately, that comes at the expense of his 6 year old daughter Nanako Dojima, forced to take care of the house because her father is too busy at work and barely has any time to care for her. The story starts with the main protagonist traveling to Inaba, a small town where your uncle Ryotaro Dojima lives in. His Social Link combined with the Persona 4 story has you, the protagonist, act as Nanako's "big brother" who takes care of her and keeps her company, while trying to convince Ryotaro that he's still her father and needs to take care of her regardless of how important his job is. Unfortunately, the quiet town of Inaba will soon become famous when a string of mysterious murders and kidnappings start occurring out of nowhere, starting with Mayumi Yamano and Saki Konishi. We are a transfer student at Yasogami High School, and we hear rumors about a Channel that only airs at night. This is where our protagonist finds out about the Midnight Channel, a mysterious TV Channel that only airs at midnight and shows the people who will end up dead very soon. This is also where we find out we can actually enter the TV and stop these murders from occurring, along with new friends who will be joining us, those being Yosuke Hanamura and Chie Satonaka. When the second dead body is discovered and Yukiko Amagi, a friend of Yosuke and Chie, gets kidnapped, the party decides to gather and save their friend from certain death. We will come at odds with Ryotaro Dojima who slowly gets more suspicious about our activities and will even confront us about it, causing Nanako to get sad and lash out often. However, we will also meet a new friend who works under Dojima: Tohru Adachi. To say Adachi is a very interesting character is an understatement, especially considering all the memes surrounding him, but then we will enter spoiler territory so let's leave it at that. The gameplay is what you'd expect, and the first attempt at dungeons compared to Tartarus that was commonly considered to be very boring to travel through. In a way, this is the very first attempt at creating Persona 5's Palaces too, even though admittedly Persona 5 is a massive improvement in that regard. The difference between Persona 4's dungeons and Persona 5's Palaces is purely perception. The best description of a Palace is a representation of its owner's deepest desires and thoughts, best shown with Kamoshida thinking he's a king and the school is his castle. Persona 4 differs because the perception is reverted. Persona 4 Golden adds Marie, a controversial character who's a very stereotypical tsundere. Personally I do think her behavior is too exaggerated and blatantly tsundere in a bad & cliché way, but she does redeem herself if you spend enough time with her Social Link. [b] And I very strongly suggest you do that, otherwise you will miss out on the Golden extra content. [/b] I'd like to say more, but this review is long enough as it is. Strong party filled with fun interactions, solid gameplay and fantastic story with twists and turns. My one strong negative is the way you achieve the perfect true ending. In my first playthrough I got the "bad" ending because I didn't choose the right dialogue options, I get the idea now but it was the most frustrating thing. Then YEARS LATER I find out I didn't even get the true ending anyway because I didn't do very specific things at the very end to unlock the ACTUAL final boss. This game is a 8.5/10 for me. I highly enjoyed my time with Persona 4 Golden, would cry at the credits again.
