Persian Nights: Sands of Wonders

A fun and beautiful game.

As I started Persian Nights: Sands of Wonders I was instantly smirking, realising I had a really good time even from the start of the game. Decent story, with a really good soundtrack! I also liked the entire Persian themes and lore too. Now, I only have a couple of things to say, that were a bit negative. First of all, hearing the characters of the game proclaim "hurry", "quickly" or otherwise reminding the player that it's time to speed up, because of time is of the essence can grow a bit old. You hear it every single minute of the game, and it got annoying! I also missed more hidden object puzzles, as in a previous Artifex Mundi game I played, there were so many of them, and I really enjoy them. As some people would say this game was a bit short, I would recommend getting it on a Steam sale, but I do of course recommend the game!

I'm willing to give a thumbs up because overall it's a well done game, but it's at the bottom of my picks for the HOG genre for sure. Has those stupid "listen to a story" games and "do battle by pressing the symbols" which are so boring and painful. Blatant filler rather than adding real content, I hoped to never see those in another HOG. I can tell just finishing will be a chore, and I'll be skipping a lot. They force a partner on you as well as unnecessary drama, defeating the purpose of an HOG being casual and relaxing. The partner also adds annoying repeated narrative each time you click in the same zoom in box. Yes, I know what a door knob is already... There are way better ones out there, but it's passable overall.

무난한 스토리. 무난한 게임성. 한국어 번역 퀄리티가 꽤 아쉽지만 메인 스토리는 풀보이스에 쉬운 영어라 이해하기 어렵지 않고, 퍼즐은 어려운 부분이 없어서 클리어하는데 큰 문제는 없었음. 플레이타임 2~3시간 분량으로, 꽤 짧아서 트레이딩 카드를 모두 획득하려면 클리어하고도 좀 더 켜놔야 할 정도. 도전과제 중 수집품(필드에서 왕궁 그림 찾기) 모두 획득과 남주와 모든 대화 나누기가 있으니 실수로 잊어먹고 넘어가지 않게 주의하자.

This makes me wish so badly that Steam had star ratings or an average option. Because this game isn't technically bad. But I don't recommend it largely because there are simply a LOT better HOPAs out there. This has to be one of the easiest HOPA games I've ever played. Extremely easy puzzles and few HO scenes. The art is pretty basic and not that interesting to look at and the character models are the unholy combo of CGI and 2D animation. It looks God awful There are better games out there. I just felt this was just so basic, bland, and easy. Just not worth the money.

I liked the dialogue between the characters, it was refreshing to be honest! As always, the art and music are really sweet, I definitely downloaded some of each.

Nice music and voice acting. I like it.
